Delicious! I am Lebanese/Syrian and I make it like this.. I sauté onion in olive oil and add some Aleppo red pepper and cumin..Add the rinsed lentils. Cook them about 20-25 minutes in chicken broth. On the side, I sauté some mashed garlic with fresh cilantro. Once the lentils are cooked, I purée them with a hand held blender. Then add the cilantro and garlic and I add some fresh kale! Cook for a few minutes until done! I use kale because it holds up in the soup! I squeeze some fresh lemon over This, and I fry some pita chips! Literally my favorite soup- I make this every other week! Love it! Great video!❣️

Looks great! Will definitely try this recipe. I would recommend adding the spices after the vegetables have sautéed and before adding the tomato paste. Cooking the spices at this point for 2 minutes will help the spices bloom and release the oils to intensify the flavours.

Wow! That Turkish red lentil soup is called "Ezo Gelin Corbasi" .
@Rocky_00021 күн бұрын
That’s called Ezo Gelin Corbasi (Ezo Gelin Soup) :)) made with red lentil but here she’s making regular lentil soup. Actually at many traditional restaurants Mercimek Corbasi (Red Lentil Soup) is made without a tomato paste or tomato but usually at home we use tomato. Also carrots and potato added while boiling and onion of course also if you make it with beef broth it gives a nice flavor. So there are ways to do it. So here recipe is very common home made Mercimek Corbasi:) to be honest though texture looks little different in the video but I am sure it’s delicious. You can’t go wrong with red lentils:)
