Nintendo confirmed a live action Zelda is in the works. Do you think an adaption of the first two games would work?
@Chaosbean-14436 ай бұрын
Definitely. Since this is going to be the first Zelda movie, it would be better if it stuck to its roots of the early games. The newer games have great settings and stories, but since they have to be adapted into film with a limited runtime, it has a high chance of becoming an expedition dump. Also, they really can't take the mario movie route this time since it will be much more serious. The great thing is that the first two games aren't too specific on the story elements, so I think, if done right (A BIG IF) it can leave a lot of room for a really interesting adventure.
@PartyDude_196 ай бұрын
I really hope so, I think that the movie could take a lot of inspiration from the manga by Ran Maru as they introduce some interesting elements to the franchise such as Link being trained by a werewolf named Gump or that Link is accompanied by a parrot named Watto
@Chris-bz2rf6 ай бұрын
YES especially the first one, I could see it in the same vain of the dnd movie with link just running around and just doing random stuff, maybe he might accidentally do some dungeons out of order and it could widen the audience of the original Zelda, as most people write it off as too cryptic

And when Link goes to revive Zelda, Ganon attacks em. And much to both their horrors, the corpse of Zelda falls into lava.... The way the manga of a link to the past ended was realistic and bitter sweet. And i mean the version that was trickled out over a season of Nintendo Power mag in the early 90s. In case you never read it, it ends with Zelda approaching link as he places the master sword in its pedestal in the lost woods. He is all pimped out because he's now leader ift the Hyrulian Knights and protector of the Triforce. She tells him that while peace has been restored, its bitter sweet because her responsibilities to the kingdom, and his as a protector, disable them from ever seeing each other informally. She laments this sacrifice they make for peace ajtd covets her memories of being captive by Ganon because during that time she was connected to Link. She sheds a tear and her horse trots her away while link stands and sadly watches her leave. Then it goes to a shot a of the sword still in the pedestal, but now covered in moss and vines, showing that it was intouched for likely centuries. This indicated that Hyrule remains in a long period of peace from Ganon. Fantastic ending and I'd love to see something like that in the movie.

I could never hate Zelda 2 because even though the game itself is definitely insane, the story of the game over screen where Link is literally SACRIFICED and they use his blood to resurrect Ganon... like what? For a children's game in the 80s you don't expect such a dark story but I absolutely love the manuals for providing us with the backstories of the games. Not exactly.... Early Zelda was highly religious, and a lot of it was changed to be less offensive, even today they still use the same religious imagery but try to hide it more. Before explaining I'm leaving this note. Note the final forms of villains are based on different versions of the bible(Hebrew, christian etc) as are a lot of plot points in Zelda, such as the flood: •Zant is noted to be a corrupted priest manipulated by Ganon (the devil equivalent) •Ganon takes the form of Baal •Twin Rova takes the form of a djinn(demon) •Vaati takes the form of a biblically accurate fallen angel •Majora is noted to be a demon
@almessasorrow49502 ай бұрын
For example Ocarina of time: Ganon(beast) is based on Baal, who took over the desert king Ganondorf who was Hungry for power to protect his people the gerudo(moors)(even down to the flameco music) Baal is noted for being summoned by the sacrifice of children. Twin Rova becomes a djinn when combined(a djiin/demon, servant to the demon king Ganon) that's their true form. They taught Ganondorf magic for the sake of him losing himself and becoming Ganon/the vessel for ganon, the dark lord they serve. Triforce power(the power of god) is hidden in a temple, opened by a saint, and the chosen hero of said god. This happens because the people of Hyrule reject Ganondorf when he comes to them for help, he then seeks power, and with that power curses the people who refused to help him, the more he used the power the more sacrifices he had to make. No sacrifice was too much. But by the end he had forgotten why he was fighting to begin with(for his people) when freed in windwaker he seems to be more cautious in his use of power, and what he's willing to sacrifice for it.

There was also a Super Mario full color manga that was serialized in Nintendo Power at the same time, based mostly on Super Mario World with a final chapter based on Super Mario Land 2, and a second follow up Mario vs Wario comic later that wasn't based on a specific game. That also got a limited graphic novel release which was later reprinted by Dark Horse, though both editions of the graphic novel leave out the later Mario vs Wario follow-up chapter. Turns out that was all according to Ganon's plan...the Triforce of Power slowly corrupts Link, not only eventually stripping away the Triforce of Courage from within Link's heart, it also gradually turned him into a boarlike creature similar to Ganon!! And Zelda utters the best line I EVER read..."He who relies on Power alone, without Wisdom, cannot claim Courage!" Now that's some words of wisdom right there. Anywho, Link relinquished the Triforce of Power...buuut somehow Ganon managed to scoop that joint back up.😮😮😮😮😮 The ol' skool DiC Entertainment cartoons...yesss. Those were my jam. I grew up with the original Zelda. Still love that game. I've basically broken that game.

I did the math and it is possible to split a triangle into 8 triangles of equal size.

I can't be the only one who thinks Captian N would make an incredible live action show. Give it an 80s vapornwave aesthetic. Bring back some old video game heroes.

I never realised some of the old games had such cool stories/lore. I dont think i would mind if the Zelda movie was based off one of thise early games the first one would be perfect since its story allows alot of freedom

15:43 "Zelda rewards him with an all-out make-out sess." That's more than Mario ever got. Sometimes he gets a cake and a kiss on the nose, if he's lucky.

I always thought that Zelda's Adventure was, conceptually, an idea that could have been great. A classic top-down Zelda game where the sprites are digitized photos of real actors and clay models sounds amazing. Even the FMV cutscenes and the phoned in acting could have had their own cheesy charm. It's unfortunate that it could only have been made for the CDi, because with better hardware and more time and funding it could have at least been alright. The vision was there.

The interview about link's age being 12 in zelda 1 would canonically not make sense, since he is confirmed to be 16 in zelda 2, which takes place 6 years after the first game. Unfortunately sometimes even devs mess up their info lol (unless that interview was before zelda 2 was released, then that would make more sense.)

Well, with the new Zelda "Echoes of Wisdom" Maybe we'll knew what happened to the "Awakening's Link" if that game is canon

05:31 That actually sounds kinda rad to me. Probably wouldn't have been easy to convey well on the NES, though.

TLoZ is no stranger to despair inducing deaths (even if in theory) of Links. The Link of Oot wound up a dead stalfos teaching moves to Link of Twilight Princess ffs. The whole "Link is dead" thing of Majoras Mask was to good to ignore.... now I think on it, Majors Mask WAS Link getting lost in the woods and eventually becoming the skeletal teacher in TP...

First Zelda game I played was Link to the Past. But then I got my hands on Ocarina of Times. My mommy bought it for me and I played the heck out of it. Then Majora mask and Wind Waker. Twilight Princess and then went back to finish Link to the Past. Then the NES first Legend of Zelda and Link's Adventure. Funny enough I died more in both the 2 NES games then every other games of the Zelda franchise. I love this games, I dunno why. It have something special and pure in it. I still plan to start playing Tears of the Kingdom. I hope I will.

fun fact.. as a child in the 80s. i thought the boy was named Zelda as at the time i had no clue this was a real world name, and just made up for the game... so when the game asked me to enter the name i entered what i thought was the obvious name for him. ZELDA... little did i know this was a cheat code to get into the second quest part of the game...for anyone who does not know.. the second quest is the game assuming you beat it the first time and now the game is in hard mode
