I have a feeling they’re only going to stair step that hill with walls (similar to where the coaster’s going in) to prevent slides due to erosion from rain. A friend and I walked down that access road at the bottom of the hill about a year ago and it looked more sketchy than safe. Not only erosion, but all that vegetation was probably a fire risk.

Dylan on the where all the trees were cut down, the reason is that one of the escalators beams are cracking and falling apart so they are reinforcing the beams and escalators before it’s too late

I think it might be the end of The Mummy since probably a future Video game land, Movie Land etc.. is going to probably be replacing it! (For land space) Though a transformers like system would work for it looks like a another attraction but, we will have to wait and see! Also great video

They just replaced all the mummy lockers this past month with new ones, so not sure if it’s going away just yet! It is very popular and a highly rated guest experience, so I think it still has some life in it.

Well I hope not, it’s the only thrilling coaster in the park at this point. And if they do another “land” I hope it’s better than Mario land. That was a total let down…. Especially the Mario cart ride. Like 1 out of 10.

The fact that this coaster isn't opening for a least another year, when it looks like it could open in less than a year, does play into the idea that this coaster is a first of it's kind and may require more time to construct and conduct T&A. But I could be totally wrong.

MASSIVE supports are being staged for the track to reach the Jr. Dive Loop over the escalators! This week they didn't work at night on supports and track, but they put a lot of catwalks instead.

My insider at the jelly bean taco stand said the new project is all part of a big switcharoo, Intamin is bringing the Kingda Ka top hat over to the west coast to attach to Fast and Furious to save money. The tiny price, Great Adventure getting Jurassic World with Zamperla adding a bunch of random LSMs for the world record. You’ll never see water launched so high anywhere else.

Would be nice if Universal/Comcast bought the Lakeside Golf Course for future expansion. However, between homeowner-NIMBY opposition, the film industry in LA declining & competition from other theme parks (& film studios) throughout the world, not sure if that would pay off.

Haven't started the video yet. My guess it is Escalator expansion to new Studio Tour station. Which allows the Simpsons Land and current Studio station for future theme park expansion. From what I was told Universal is not keen on more HP expansion at Hollywood due to cost,. I expect Pokemon for Simpsons Land, but we shall see.

I think many people associate The Mummy attraction to the movies and look at it as dated; when The Mummy is a classic Universal Mummy. I really feel like they’re not refurbishing The Mummy- I think they’re preparing a full reimagining of The Mummy and bring a little ‘Dark Universe’ to Hollywood. I think that’s the new ride that company was talking about. How great would it be to open Fast & Furious outdoor coaster and a new Mummy coaster the same year or so - AMAZING! That entire side off the hill of the escalator down to The Mummy I think they’re going to clear out (as they’ve been removing trees) and make it a desert oasis that leads down to the new Mummy attraction. How great would just the escalator experience be to have a desert oasis on the right side of the escalator leading to The Mummy and a jungle leading down the left side to Jurassic! I could be totally off, but I HOPE that’s what they’re doing. I don’t think its the studio tour, they would have to massively expand the escalators otherwise the already bottlenecking getting down to the lower lot will become unbearable.

From what I hear, some sort of event space/structuring the wall. I wish it was them moving the Tram entrance or something but sounds like it won't change the park much, in fact it feels like there are no solid rumors to even what is next after the new coaster...which is strange you'd think Universal would be wanting to start a new project soon so we have something big for 2027 unless they plan on having another 2 year gap between attractions.

So since there will be 3 hubs to enter the park in the future. The hotel now announced. So Hotel going over where I-Fly is getting knocked out and that is one of the new enterances. The other over by Fransenstien's parking. Sooo but bye Fast n Furious Super charged and The entire Nope set. Possible we might see a Harry potter expansion cause Simpson's deal is ending like the Aerosmith catalog bought from Universal and leaving Hollywood Studios. Possible a Harry Potter land expansion for us? Maybe the ministry of Defense ride built or possibly the Monsters dark ride at the og park where it all started.

Well the hotel plans are rumors until Universal makes it official through an announcement or construction. But the expansion pad for the park seem to be super exciting. I think there are some major plans for the park in the next few years.

I am just not a fan of musicals turned into movies...I have seen a fair share of musicals on stage! I saw The Phantom twice, once with Michael Crawford and once with Robert Guillaume, who was surprisingly good as I only knew him from the old show Benson. Saw Cats 4 times and we know how bad THAT movie version was lol...and found Le Miserable the movie terrible in comparison to the musical... I would say I am also not a fan of movies turned into musicals...but I did really like Spamalot! But did not like the pace and story of the Beetlejuice the musical as a whole...found it terribly written, overly long at some points and boring...but it did have amazing set pieces and props!

Y'all are going to be extremely disappointed thinking this thing is going to be Velocicoaster West. It's NOT going to hit 70mph+. The Velocicoaster only hits that as it approaches the top hot, speed which is lost immediately because it's climbing 155 feet. The Velocicoaster goes 70mph for MAYBE 2 seconds and everyone acting like the entire ride is at that speed! The first launch is 50mph. The Mosasaurus Roll is 53mph. The fastest spinning coaster goes 50mph. And now people claiming a spinning coaster WITH NO TOP HAT is going to be faster than all that. Suuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrre.... There are three ways to slow down a high-speed roller coaster so it isn't hitting the final brake run at 50mph: more uphill track than downhill, a lot of turns and/or a lot of length. This coaster isn't climbing no 155 feet, like the Velocicoaster. It'll be lucky to hit 100 feet. This argument COULD be made if it was going UNDER the Star Way and then OVER it, but it's not. It's going over and then under, which will add speed right before the brake run. After the second launch, it does the stall, cruises along the roof of the ride building, and then goes around the StarWay before an immediate inversion and then immediately hitting the brakes. So very little height, very little turning, and not a whole lot of length. If this thing shoots out of that second brake run at 70mph - IN A SPINNING VEHICLE - there is going to be a lot of whiplash at that brake run. This is a FAMILY park. They simply aren't interested in putting the Velocicoaster here. Their direct competitors aren't Knotts and Magic Mountain. Their attendance numbers are already kicking those parks' asses. COMBINED. Their competitors are Disney and the thousands of other things to do in the LA area. They are knocking on DCA's door attendance-wise, and an extreme coaster is NOT going to move that needle. The IP will get people into the park, but those people will want to actually RIDE the IP, and most will not if it's making scary noises and the people riding it are screaming bloody murder (which can't happen anyway due to the neighbors). This coaster will be "Family-plus", like all the coasters going into Epic Universe. (In fact, their one scary coaster outside Islands of Adventure - Rip, Ride, Rockit - is rumored to be replaced with another version of this coaster. So maybe don't expect a Velocicoaster or Incredible Hulk or Dr Doom's Fearfall outside of IOA.)

There are probably two moments this coaster may get to 70mph. Up the turnaround and up the stall, anything after that of course it won’t be going 70. Right now we already see three inversions and all the profiling is super tight and sharp, so overall this is not going to be some baby coaster. It’s a high thrill coaster that I have no doubt will pack a serious punch.
