Chessington looks like a really nice park. It's a bit annoying seeing operations and buildings being so poorly maintained. Some UK theme parks need to step up their game, especially if the Universal Park goes ahead!

I used to love Chessington in the 1990s, especially Vampire and 5th Dimension. Hopefully Bubbleworks will return! Would definitely like to see them expand so they can install some more high-capacity coasters.

Chessington next major investment needs to be another water ride for hot summer days and when tiger rock is out of action leaving the park with no water ride. A Jungle Themed Intamin River rapids would be perfect imo. A Intamin Multi Launch Family Coaster would be another great addition to the park.

Seriously Merlin needs to get it together, the state of their parks at the moment (they probably need to sell a few and put more tlc on the rest), I just got back from Phantasialand last week, it was boiling hot just like in the UK right now but I’ve seen not one ride out of service, the queues times were decent (except crazy bats for some reason) manage to get a whole load of rides in just one day the condition of the park was pristine (concessions, toilets, even cleaners are in costume) Great example of a good competent operation, hope this company branches out to the uk 👀

The thing is, both of their standalone European park (Gardaland and Heidi park) are looking brilliant. I was at Gardaland 3 days ago and it looks brilliant and very well presented. Chessington is the worst to be honest, it looks abandoned and it’s utterly shocking to see!

I am still yet to have visited Chessington World of Adventures but im planning a trip to this park for my first ever time next year along with a return visit to my childhood theme park Legoland Windsor for my first time since Brick or Treat back in Octobet 2020 for a little weekend road trip across 2 parks!

I went down to Chessington on Sunday for my yearly trip down there with my family. It was nice down there but we did unfortunately just miss out on Tiger Rock due to an engine malfunction. I do agree that the park needs to sort their stuff out with not only the operations but also the maintenance.

Such a shame that Merlin have comoletely abandoned that powered coaster. The last thing Chessington needs is even less rides, especially since some have such low capacity! Sure, some is just the weather but there is some obvious low quality maintanance. What cheered me up in this video is remembering that time you went with your mum and dad and how funny your mum was. 😅

The derelict seating area to the right as you finish dragon river is such an eyesore. The queue area at vampire is in a really bad state and don’t even start me on tomb blaster (awful on all levels) with the obvious neglect at legoland too it just feels that money is happy to be taken but not invested. The new jumanji area is very good in all fairness but it’s not an excuse for neglecting large areas of these parks when charging that amount for entrance

went here with school on july 4th busy queues but we were using my friends disability access pass which meant we were able to get on all the rides. however they wouldn’t let us on tiger rock without an adult so we missed out on that.

The seating area by tiger rock has been closed for about a year or so. My husband is gutted it was his favourite area to eat lunch as it was always quite quiet. Chessington is our local park and I’ll always have a soft spot for it but there ride operations haven’t been great recently and rides are constantly breaking down. Honestly you’re lucky you got on tomb blaster, the last three times we’ve been on it it’s broken down. I’d bet anything it was only on 15 minutes because it’d just reopened. They either need to put some money into it or get rid, it’s such a shame as it’s always been a favourite with my kids. I have to say though I absolutely love Mandrill, I’m a huge fan of big thrill coasters. But mandrill is one of my favourite coasters in the UK, it’s just so much fun

Firstly and most importantly I just want to point out the viewing areas for the gorgeous Tigers at Tiger Rock, the glass was filthy from what looked as though food from the public was thrown at it, I was fuming as Tigers mean the world to me and to see the heartless things humans do, disgraceful. And I dread to think how long it took for staff to be bothered to clean it. I took my Nephew to Chessington last year and what a rubbish time we had. So many things were closed, the ques were ridiculously long, the park was dirty and we got bored by about 1pm. Thank you Shawn and Charlotte for these little updates, I'm glad you are not afraid to say what you think. Merlin, you need to up your game big time!!

I dont buy the "extreme heat" argument for bad operations. I now live in the UAE, where it is regularly in excess of 45 degrees, and there is no such issues. It is simply bad management and maintenence that is to blame.

I have seen that you did get to experience Devil's Creek Gold mine though, which reused Beelzee Bob's models and had a wild west remix of it's station music too! A real shame Adventure Island removed the mine train, especially given the ride system existed even before 1961 where it was known as the Jigsaw Train.

Can I ask, why is it that you can film on the grufalo and tomb blaster, but u can't film on the likes of congo river rapids, hex, curse at alton manor and rumba rapids? We had a fab experience at Chessington - staying overnight in the hotel. Having an excluive 1hr from 9am to 10am to ride Mandril Mayhem was great. The visit slightly tainted today (2 weeks later) hving received two ULEZ penalty notices in the post. I did not even cross my mind that Chessington was in the ULEZ zone :-(. £180, if i pay in 2 weeks, £360 if i pay withi 28 days :-(
