Sigh, irreplaceable Gene Wilder. Gentle, funny, special human.

This song is stuck in my head. I wish Gene Wilder would sing this song to me if he reincarnated into a fox.

My dad took our family to Radio City Music Hall Christmas Day 1973 to see the Rockettes. The Little Prince was the feature film. He drove us there all the way from Philly. It turned out to be the most delightful Christmas imaginable. I'm almost 54 years old and I never forgot how magical and lovely this story has been. A fantastic show with those beautiful dancing Rockettes, too. Thanks Dad, I love you! Thanks Rockettes and thank you everyone whose performances in this production of The Little Prince made it such a priceless touchstone to a very happy childhood memory. Love to all!!!!

A lot of people had Willy Wonka as the first time they saw him, or The Producers, or Blazing Saddles, or his Trilogy with Richard Pryor, or even Bonnie and Clyde. I had The Little Prince as my first time experiencing this treasure of a man.

This was the first movie I saw when I was a little child (that I remember) and at that time, I had read a picture book of the Little Prince so I knew it would be a fox + prince scene. So I thought it's weird...a man in brown suits jumping around, not a fox..he even didn't wear his fox tails and ears. I also couldn't read Japanese subtitles at that time so I felt so harder. Now I'm old, understand English and at the same time, can understand the book as a grown-up. So I happened to see this and now I'm really impressed with the song and the performance. Yes Gene Wilder is the fox itself from the book... He's so perfect and I'm in love with him, finally after 46 years...

Oh, the joy, wonder and innocence of childhood -- so well exemplified by this number! Too bad that the score's writers, Lerner & Loewe, were disappointed with the finished product of the whole film.

This was on at about 1 in the morning when I could not sleep. I was living on PEI, Canada and studying for my bachelor's; I ended up teaching French in Westwood NJ, and showed it in class. The students loved it. Much more than I did during my insomnia so many years before.

I was watching a fox this past weekend and this was the only thing I could think of haha! The fox was so shy but also very curious like the one in the story. I might have found the Little Prince's Fox guys!

Bro, what luck, after seeing Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, I looked for the actor and the little prince came up, and it is one of my favorite books and since I was a child I watched a series of the little prince, so I was happy to know that he was in the movie, I already saw it and I loved it

Read the book and you will see it differently. Wilder is playing a fox, not a human being. After all, “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
