This was a favourite song of a good friend, John McConnell, and I always think of him when I hear it...his life ended tragically and too soon but he was one of those people you were glad to say that you knew...

I think people of my generation will understand what song means to us , we remember being young happy and free . They say if you remember 1960s you were not there, I remember and I was there thanks to my mum dad for getting together we were a special generation

That her face, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale. My all-time favorite line of any lyric ever written.

This song hits me deep in my roots. My mom was from Alabama and Dad from New York . We lived in California but both taught me of their roots. I am 100 percent American because of them. What a great An Mercian song!
