In this video we tackle the rear gun directors! Things are finally back at a point where I can assemble one section of the ship at a time.
Music is by the Midwestern and can be had here: themidwesternb...
I'm on Instagram and upload build pictures pretty often:

rocky folley in one of my Arizona videos, towards the end of the build I think I show the image and where I found it. I think it was a navy reference site of sorts. Sorry I don’t know where exactly I found it at off the top of my head.

One thing I have noticed is that when watching these build videos, is with airbrushing you get a more even tone across the painting process than you would with painting by brush as with brush painting you can see each brush stroke, which would ruin the painting process unless you're doing weathering..... I haven't used airbrush before, but after seeing lot of model builders using it....and thinking bout using an air brush for all model builds unless i have to use a brush in areas where it would be needed....with the aurbrush WOW!! the finish more realistic and professional. Thanks for the build on the Missouri (Mighty Mo) she really is coming a long great cant wait to see the final build.

The two things stinking out of the rear direction finder is the range finder, it used triangulation to determine the range to something, the rubberized cloth was there because the two pieces had to be able to move in and out to get the range.

Richard Charbonneau you are wrong. The canvas is to allow the optics to move up and down, to compensate for the pitch and roll of the ship. There is a gyro in IC Plot that send corrections to the director and to all the 5" 38 guns.

Hey Ben nice work! One thing I'll share is I do metal earth models from time to time and I've found different size magnets I'll use small ones and attach it to the parts sheet before I cut the piece out! It usually never goes flying. But if it does I use bigger magnets to sweep the floor sweeping in a grid, I've pulled the smallest peices out of carpet, you can hear it click to the magnet! Hope this helps

I’ve got a question that’s not entirely related to this build. Have you ever built any of the Great White Fleet ships from the late 1800’s and if so what colors did you use for the deck, main gun turrets and super structure? I’m a ship in bottle builder currently working on the USS Maine ACR-1 and having trouble finding the right colors. Thanks and I really enjoy the videos of your builds!!
@TheMidwestModelShop

Nope. I have considered building them, but never put any more effort into it than that. I’m sure there is a “ .gov” site out there that has the official colors listed.

Hi when you add the ladder rungs, do you poke holes in the actual model or do you just glue them? Also can you glue the brass pieces together with normal cement or do I have to buy something special?

@@TheMidwestModelShop Yeah you telling us about having to fill gaps with puddy and sand them is soooooo helpful. You mean models don't fit perfectly and you have to make adjustments? I never would've imagined. Incredible insight you're putting out there you clown shoe. Real model channels do this amazing thing called editing where they dub their commentary in while you watch them make adjustments and solve issues they dont film themselves crying about every little thing with zero progress being made on the project. Literally all your videos are is just cutting from one clip of you bitching to the next clip of you bitching. Oh and your little updates where you drone on and on for the first 3 to 5 minutes of every video suck too. Pull your head out of your ass and take a look around youtube to see how good builders do things and maybe your channel won't be shit

People watch these channels to see the process and pick up tips from people actually showing the process of building the model. You don't show any of the actual building process. The only thing thats commendable is you put effort into attention to detail
@TheMidwestModelShop
@TheMidwestModelShop 4 жыл бұрын
Cashper Da Gahd 2K the next video is actually going to show the building process because I have had many request for it. I don’t normally do that because I assume the viewer knows how to glue things together already. I have a format that I like and it’s the way I do things. If you don’t like it, just don’t watch it. I’m not changing for anyone. I also have a full time job which means I don’t have to cater my channel to one person’s (or group’s) whims. It blows my mind how difficult it is for people like you to choose what to watch and not watch on KZbin. Anything else I can help you with?
