Great video. This and its pre-LCI successor are among the best looking 7 Series models and even among luxury segment cars in general out there.

This is extremely awesome. Having all this info while I'm in the middle of a search for a new used car is a huge win. Thank you!

Brilliant cars! Make sure it has full BMW service history when buying secondhand. My F02 is now approaching 140,000 miles.

How about a Lexus in future videos? Maybe even the LX 570!😂 For EU buyers not the most relevant (maybe one or two plan on importing one, maybe) but for American, Australian and non-EU European buyers. It would be interesting to see what issues a luxury segment vehicle from Toyota has compared to the Germans. As for luxury cars consider the Audi A8 D3. They seem really popular and I see them around often.

There’s some Japanese luxury coming up with the Mazda CX-9 this week (and I’ve just started research for an Infinity QX so that will be along soon too). Previously I did the Lexus GX460 (included in the Land Cruiser Prado guide) 👍

@@themilesdrivenoh right you combined the GX with the Prado video, how about doing the same with the Land Cruiser 200 and LX 570 some time in the future?
@themilesdriven11 ай бұрын
It's funny you should mention the LX570, The LC 200 has been in a 'future videos' folder for quite a while now. It's one I want to do, but the big 4x4s take extra research time as you have to check each reported problem to understand if it only occurs in off-roading or is actually affecting any type of driving, but it's got a folder waiting to be made into a video, so it will happen at some point 👍

@@themilesdriven oh yes that's true there is more complexity to them, thx for the insight, now I know the day you drop a video on the J200 on is coming😊

Thank you I'm in love with this car but I just worry it will be broken down more than getting to drive it

How about with the 750d? That’s the same engine as 740d? I mean, you recommended that diesel engine. I’d like to have more horsepower in such a car. That’s why I’m looking for 750d.
@themilesdriven5 ай бұрын
Main reason for 740d is because there are more, so bigger choice on the used market. 750d is not sold in all markets and is rare, but is a good choice if you can find one in good condition. 740d is not far behind 750d across the Rev range so the 740d doesn’t feel inferior to 750d until 3,000rpm, and when I made the video the 750d was quite a bit more expensive, which is why I recommend 740d. 750d is still the best version, just the challenge of finding one in good condition, well kept by previous owners, and paying a good price 👍

Any advice m8 thinking of buying a 2012 730d M Sport luxury edition around 40k miles on it? Service seems to have been up to date
@themilesdriven4 ай бұрын
Aside from the bits in the video, one tip specific to the one you’re looking at, check the dates on the tyres. At 40k mileage the tyres could have been on there for a very long time (after 5 years tyres can fail yearly inspections for cracking - happened on my old Range Rover - the tyres had plenty of tread but only just passed an MOT for cracking - an unexpected bill to say the least). There is a code stamped on them something in a small rectangular box on the sidewall like [2815] the is the date they were made, the first two digits are the week (so 28th week of the year in the example I’ve put). And the last two are the year (2015 in my example). My old sales manager always made me check low mileage cars for tyre date as most people just check the tread, but replacing 4 tyres (especially on a 7-series) because they are starting to crack and lose grip for age is more common that you think, so a quick check is well worth it 👍
