The story starter allows you to take the story in any direction as long as the starting line fits. So you can write an adventure story and you need to show what circumstances caused that starting line to happen. It's like writing the story in flashback. Just make sure the elements of the story are kept in mind and you adhere to the word limit. Use good vocabulary. Good luck.

Goodmorning Ma'am Should we strictly use past tense while writing a story? My kids are asking why not present tense. When a picture is given and ask the students to do picture composition,should they follow strictly present tense like This is a picture of a park.children are playing etc.some children have written like this was a picture of a park and children were playing.How can I reason this? Stories use the narrative past. You are narrating a story that happened, aren't you? Hence past tense. You cannot write it in the present tense. When you describe a picture you use the present tense because you cannot use the past. There was a picture? Now it is not there? If so, how are you going to describe it? That is illogical. What is there to reason? Isn't it clearly absurd?

If the topic is 'My first birthday', and you are writing, it has to be your point of view in first person and you cannot possibly have a memory of it as you are an infant. Therefore, this topic is faulty. Your parents can write about their joy at the birth of a child. There is no need to get personal over this @ weren't you happy etc. Advent is related to the arrival of the baby, "advent of celebrations" is clearly wrong, besides, advent is an archaic word. Overall, a very ambiguous topic.

Thank you very much for this video . I am a grade 10 ICSE student and this has cleared all my doubts regarding story writing. Could you please make videos on transformation of sentences. The board paper has a bit called "Join the following sentences to make one complete sentence without using and, but or so. " Some example questions are as follows. (i) Sonia asked a riddle. I was unable to solve it. (ii) John helped Thomas. Thomas will always be grateful. (iii) Rajan is a great Cricketer. He is also popular. (iv) Adnan sang a wonderful song. It became a hit. I find it very difficult and confusing to answer such questions.I have referred to multiple textbooks and resources till date but none of them offer any proper explanation.They just provide more examples.. Could you please make a video on this 🙏🙏

Basic elements and structure does not change. These may be given to you. Keep the conflict central and find a solution.

Setting Character Problem Events Solution. Have to include all elements of the story. But. Start a story with a problem not with the setting.. 1. Stolen ring. Kidnapped boy. 2. Setting. Where did the problem occur? Create atmosphere.. adjectives etc powerful but brief. Should add to the story not distract from it. 3. Action/ events. How or why and what happened. Then add a Rising action .. tension goes up. Danger increases.. 4. Characters. Hero. Villain.. supporting characters.. people or animals. More about what happened. 5. Solution . How was the problem solved. Vocabulary.. adjectives and adverbs.. precise and descriptive. Remember stories are in the past tense.
