Been putting LEDs in my Hot Wheels customs for 3yrs now. It may seem challenging at first, but it does get simpler. You can buy LEDs already wired small enough for 1/64 in many different colors! This does look sic!

@@visualdosage234 Amazon sells LEDs that are smaller than the head of a matchstick and you can buy them that already come with battery kit. They have blinking ones and ones that slowly change colors. You can also get them that have a remote to control them. They’re already pre wired and everything and can be fitted nicely. Plus they only cost a few bucks and can be delivered the next day. They’re the only ones that I use. I even use them in my diaromas.
@c.c.107011 ай бұрын
@@visualdosage234 I take and use my Dremel to make a whole thru the middle of the base of the car small enough for the LED to fit in. I’ll glue the back of it into the inside of the base, that way only the light is exposed underneath the casting. The lights are bright enough that when the car is on a flat surface, it looks just like the light of a full-size vehicle with under glow lights installed into it. The interior will keep the light from shining through the rest of the car.

Glad to help with this small illegal trick! ;D But why 3x 9V batteries??? That sound way too much power and voltage for LEDs. Did you wire them all parallel?
@davenelson818711 ай бұрын
@@themodelcarproject well, my problem is varying V rated LEDS I think. Actually a total of 7 3mm (2 wh, 1 bl, 2 red, and 2 flickering orange) bit the orange are 5-12v fwd v bulbs. I don’t understand how to get max brightness without using adequate power (comes out to 15.7v and 10-24v)? Resistors will only limit the power applied to each lowering the brightness correct? I plan to mount the car on a wooden box, so hiding 3 9v batts won’t be too big an issue. Any thoughts?

Yes, because if you don't the metal will oxidize. Definitely use a lacquer based paint, it doesnt contain water. Be aware of using acrylic paints in this case, because the water inside the solvent will oxidize with the metal and then the paint will chip off (if you do not apply any primer, like in this case)
