LOL you haven't worked with two of the old school pros who helped me out in the 90's.....one of whom turned into a little Hitler when "coaching" me. One session I had to do laps non stop...I tapped out at 42 (by lap 17 I was slow, by the end barely at a walking pace.) And no, I won't reveal who it was on a public comment section.

Did you check the rebound on his shock? If the rebound is way too slow that will happen. He could be adjusting his style because he is fighting the bike. Maybe speed up the rebound in the rear shock and get the bike to naturally level out more in the air.

Idea for classes coming up. New Tee shirt that says “Am I better than Jackson?” With two check boxes after yes or no where AJ or another coach signs the shirt. Or a jersey that’s says “Jackson”the worst leaner has to wear for the class as punishment for stubbornness

I think you need 2 cameras. One to film for youtube and one you use to show clips to students to show them (rather than tell them what) they are doing wrong. I know when my brother takes videos of me it helps to go back an watch that way I can see what my adjustments look like.

Knees forward looks really really bad.. i do the same thing but feel like i dont.. my front end wont float tho. Im on a suzuki and if my knees and body come forward it will pitch down like i want it to so it feels like im doing things correctly. I think the difference is suspension set up, though both of us are wrong for doing it bc it looks bad and looks weak and uncontrolled. In reality it probably doesnt matter and only really matters if you can clear the jump and get your pitch right but oh my does that knees forward look soooooo bad 😮

A gear lower would've made the bike even more reactive. Unsettling the chassis before the braking bumps.
@harrynoakes4 ай бұрын
@@themotoacademyYT sure but shift up in the air, inbetween those two jumps and before it he was in the wrong gear, personally I'd go a gear down and harder on the gas, shift in the air over the first or second, he's nearly bogging every time (either a. because he's in the wrong gear OR B. because he's not on the gas hard enough) and no one picked up on that, he's not getting over the second jump properly because he's not on the gas hard and/or in the wrong gear.
@harrynoakes4 ай бұрын
To add, 4:18 is the best example of this, you can hear the bike bogging when he lands the first one, either a. have it wide open, b. change down a gear, then in the air over the next one, just shift up if you want to be up a gear before the bumps.

Not the best coaching sample. Coach blaming the student that he is stubborn or slow to learn but you didn’t seem to isolate exactly what he was doing wrong until maybe the last edit where you say he’s driving his knees forward causing the front tire to come up. But you didn’t show if that corrected the problem.
