Electrical issues are always a pain. I recently finally resolved all the electrical issues on my 1982 GL500I restomod project. It's finally making some progress. Hope to see ya at the next DGR!

You show how to do things straightforward , these other sites do not . They just show enough to get you in trouble . Keep up the good work !! I am from Nova Scotia , Canada >

Thanks mate, Just picked up a 2000 intruder 800 and the horn is the only electrical thing not working ! So now i feel way more confident in checking it out myself !

Great video, it's given me some good pointers for when I get round to fault finding the non working horn on my CB400A. After I've refitted the engine, the exhaust system, a new front brake light switch and got her starting properly. That's all before Monday, there's a list of stuff, and it keeps getting longer.

I truly appreciate your efforts on bringing quality videos. I purchased a 99 Honda Magna a couple of months ago, and your videos have already been used more than once, even just basic troubleshooting and maintenance. Many thanks!! *Edit - I also plan on purchasing the carb teardown/rebuild tutorial on your website when I rejet and shim. I've been told that Magnas came lean from the factory. And the previous owner removed the baffles from the stock exhaust (sorry neighbors).

If those horns have adjusting screws, sometimes when you turn them, the horns come back to life. There are contacts inside the horns too but splitting the horn casing apart is a brutal task.

Thanks. The horns on my xj700 are working but not brilliant. Can i repair them as they are stock and i have no chance finding replacements in the uk. I have more chance of meeting the pope for a pint. 😅 seriously, any pointers on how to repair horns? If i replaced them, do i need to wire up a new relay?

I've had luck spraying WD40 into the horn while applying power to free it up.

Why not diagnose horns themselves? They're often good, just need to be cleaned and adjusted

Honestly I’ve never take one apart or am I going to attempt to prove that I know how too. Replaced with some awesome horns that are loud and clear. Done.
