One movie is about how a Disney villain became a Disney villain, while the other two are just about a Disney villain being a misunderstood anti-hero.

I disagree, i think they’re both reimaginings of old films that seek to create more morally grey characters with deeper stories and personalities than their originals.

Angelina Jolie stated she wanted the scene where she woke up and realised her wings to reflect SA, as Maleficent was drugged by someone she trusted and taken advantage of, and when she woke up, a part of her was gone and she lashed out at the world.

God, the costume design in Cruella is to die for, its nearly perfect replicas/homages to early British Punk Fashion, if you guys have the time there's a few videos where the costume designer went over her work, I am thrilled that she won the award for it because it is hands down one of my favorites when it comes to design.

The way I see it is that the original movie is about how people (peasants) tell the story with no context, just repeating what they "heard.". And this one is Aurora telling you what truly happened and telling you that the story is not quite as you were told (in the original movie). Because she didn't hear the story, she was part of it; she was the one called "the sleeping beauty.". So, it kind of embraces the original movie, but now, instead of an old tale you don't know where it came from, you can hear the story right from the source.
@batmanvsjoker772511 ай бұрын
You probably don't care, but here's a funny little bit of trivia: the actress who played young Maleficent is the same one who plays Jinx in Arcane. She came a long way since.
I wasnt expecting to go back and see Dick Grayson in sleeping beauty. It was like seeing John Nolan in Percy Jackson LOL

What I love the most about Estella/Cruella is that if she loves you and has a connection with someone, she will stay loyal to them for life. Yes, she uses them, but she didn’t trust anyone else either. Take the sociopathic aspect out and she will be like Adam Sandler giving her friends a job for life.
@freebrandyornot11 ай бұрын
Emma Stone recently confirmed in an interview that the sequel for Cruella is still moving forward and honestly, all i want is two things: let her be more unhinged, and let her smoke. I know the latter isnt that important but it's a key component aesthetically of the Cruella that she is meant to become. And i feel like disney didnt let her smoke because a) she is a little younger here and might pick up that habit later, and b) because she is a main character here which makes her a sort of role model and if that's act actually their reason not to have her smoke, i hope they revise on that thought because as a villain she isnt meant to be a good role model. Overall though, even if they will take away her aspect of wanting to skin dogs in the future, i wouldn't mind if they made it her thing to ruin rich people's lives and get rich in the process. It would he hypocritical but it works for me honestly😅

@57:34 the look of relief and pride on Jasper’s face. It’s so multi-layered. Their last look at each other was their final moment of “Are you sure about this? Will you take your moment of (understandable) revenge but lose Ella forever, or will you keep your promise to your family?” She chose her family and he was just so proud of his little sister who pulled one last con (and still got to “stab” her! This is honestly one of my favorite films. So so well-acted!🥹😂❤👏🏻

Wow Maleficent 2 is just a fantasy movie. Whywhy why add the bigotry factor and racism points of reality? Fiction movies are just that. Fantasy away from real life. Enjoy the movie instead of negatively impact it. I say there was the good side and the bad side ànd in the end good won.Just because the black fae died doesn't mean several more didn't survive. It may not have shown many black fae but to see one could mean there were many more. The movie didn't focus on every fae or even every human. Sadly the black fae that died was targeted because he was the one who rescued Maleficent so he would be a target. I hated it that he died but you have to hope that many more survived to follow his example of being courageous and diplomatic.
