I’m an old geezer who likes chainsaws and watch several “chainsaw” KZbinrs but I’ve been learning so much from you! I appreciate your information, lack of bs, great camera views and overall production and you articulate so well! Much appreciated. Bud G from Nebraska.

Watched multiple videos of yours, after buying a New Redmax commercial trimmer/brushcutter - at $400 out the door - whenever my 14 year old Redmax of the Same type, would no longer had enough power to be useable... (and, was hard to start, due to the clutch not completely disengaging) Well, I’m happy to say, I am now the Proud owner, of Two great Redmax trimmer/brushcutters - Found the running issue, was a Very clogged spark arrestor, which I pulled until I have time to clean it... And, found the clutch shoe pivot points to be Dry and Rusty - Simply, generously lubricated with Royal Purple Spray Lubricant, worked them till they free’d up, sopped up the little excess lube, and put it all back together... Runs, and works, like new...!!!

I think you're the most professional knowledgeable most experienced small engine mechanic on KZbin. You are so good at explaining it too. Hey you're so good at this you should start you a KZbin channel showing people how to do it right !! Lol. Oh yeah !! You have. Thanks mowermedic1

Hey Jeremy I think you’re correct when you say a lot of mechanics would replace the worn parts without diagnosing the root cause. That’s really good advice. Could you explain what a short block repair is vs a top end repair? Cheers

I’ve looked all over and can’t figure it out... I’ve never seen one that does pressure and vacuum like that.

I wonder what the compression was . I always thought it had to be at least 100 to run but it didnt seem to have that when the rope was pulled . Just curious

That was interesting, I only work on my own stuff, but still like the break down of what happened. Which would be more economical long term use? Rebuild or buy a new trimmer?

If the vacuum is good, shouldn't it follow that pressure would be good too, since it would be leaking from the same area for both?

That looks like someone accidentally put regular gas in it, rather than 2-cycle mix. (I've seen that all to often!) If the carburetor is indeed lean, it could be that debris got in the gas tank when fueling. No fuel, no oil. That's a BAD thing.
