Bowie was so awesome. This song has been done by so many bands and other musical groups. It is classic Bowie and he was a class act. Wish he was still with us.

Yeah drummer was a machine. Stayed right in his lane. Awesome drive and build. It's tough to do on songs that build from start to finish. Too often drummers peak too early in the song.

I agree with your comments, dear Users, and thank you for your partecipations. HEROES, without taking anything away from so many other masterpieces of David Bowie, remains in the center of my heart and in my attention, touching and moving, EVERY TIME. It was recorded June 15, 2002 at Sony Studios in New York and is part of the DVD "LIVE BY REQUEST". I apologize if in this track I have not specified, like in someone else my videos of this wonderful "A&E-LIVE!" by David Bowie.

I can't believe we have to say goodbye to yet another music legend. My sister told me about David's passing at about 5:00 this morning. I didn't believe it, and I wrote it off as a rumor. But then, I went on the internet and found out that what she said is, unfortunately, true. Cancer has taken yet another person from this planet. David, thank you for the music. You have been a part of my life since childhood, thanks to "Labyrinth." You were an amazingly talented individual, and you will be missed.

I love listening to Bowie's banter in between songs. Not only is he still Davy Jones of his youth, but he's a dad. The way he treats every caller with humor and gratitude is so good to see. His talking about the creative process is fabulous. Such generosity.

Bowie must have been 50 years old here.... what a force of intelligence and creativity. This song was written in way, in empathy for a couple stuck on tbe Eastern side of tbe Berlin Wall... ten years before the fall of communism in Germany...in essence a politiczl song of the wish for freedom, so beautiful.
