nightwish is huge in europe (not sure about britain), obviously (being a european band), and has a huge fandom in south america as well (latin-based languages/singing with tarja's opera/classic songs and/or with floor singing them now), while likely unknown in asia (cultures/music are too different, both ways, as is always the case with western vs eastern), though I think some asians who heard it, do like it, but it's just not popular in the US, sadly due to the dominance/popularity of our black/african culture/music (rap/hip-hop)

@@redmoonbloodmoon3161 They perform in Asia as well; Beijing, Hong Kong, Japan... As for the UK they sold out Wembley. They are not as well know in the USA but even there they have a strong and devoted following.

I think its cuz they are keep changing the woman singer. And so far Tarja was the best, they were totaly rising in popularity until Tarja left, it got kinda stuck at that point.

@@Cyril86 truth! A band can only deal with a singer constantly telling them she is going to leave and go solo whilst using her personal manager/husband as a go between on band stuff. Totally agree they had to let her go, but yeah...the open letter was definitely a dick move. They should have sat down with her in person to do the deed, but I dont think Tuomas would have been able to do it. Totally get the Anette situation as well, but they definitely made the right move there and it seemed more like a mutual split that time (once you hear some of the details).

Erik Randan She and the band agreed she would leave a year prior to this performance. All the contracts were signed, financial arrangements made, press conference announcing the mutual split scheduled for a week after the band sent the open letter “firing” her. She could have sued them into the ground for multiple breaches of contract, but unlike Tuomas chose not to be a spiteful little prick.

Loved your intro even with the missed note since we all make mistakes. As you've already been told, this is Nightwish's 1st female vocalist Tarja Turunen, who was kicked out in 2005 after this very show. She now has her solo career & her own band called "Tarja". She's a classically trained vocalist unlike Floor, who studied musical theater & opera only part time for two years. However, because of her classical training, Tarja isn't nearly as versatile a singer as Floor, who has said on many occasions that she quit classical training because it was too limiting for the things she wanted to do vocally.
