I think the animals are supposed to be familiars of the Salem Seven. But I do think "being seen" is a fear of Agatha's, and witches in general probably, given how the other witches are obfuscating their powers to remain below notice. Agatha has a lot of paranoia, she feels exposed, naked (literally and metaphorically), vulnerable, so telling her "I see you" does feel like a needle aimed at hitting those feelings. It could also be a "I see you [for what you really are]" given Agatha's penchant for manipulation to remind her that Rio knows her tricks.

What I love about this show is that it knows what it's trying to be. So much of Marvel is so bland because it's made to appeal to as many people as possible. Agatha All Along is a queer witchy show about the dark arts. It's fun. it's a little edgy. It showed a butt. It's so different from what the mcu usually puts out there. Makes me feel like the creators and director can really add their own flavor to this show.

So much so that when people are talking about the show, we have to avoid mentioning it so as not to anger the mob. It's exhausting. Also, the show is queer. Not just in the sense of it, including LGBT characters. But the show is very different and peculiar from the rest of the MCU, and I mean that in the very best way.

So glad you're covering the show! If Teen turns out to be Billy (and frankly, it'd be weird if he isn't), my fancast for Tommy is Milo Manheim. Looks like an older version of Young Tommy, great actor, good in an ensemble. Might be too peppy, but could possibly pull it off. I cant decide if I want these witches to die or not. It would be in keeping with the horror theme for them to drop one by one, but I'd hate for them to waste potentially great characters and actresses. I have more faith in this team to make it work either way than I have in most other Marvel teams though!

My tin foil hat theory is the teen is the darkhold dwarf. He's actually driving the action- convinces Agatha to find the Road, when Agatha doesn't recruit, he sticks around and pushes until they succeed, and the point of the Darkhold Dwarf was to resurrect the Darkhold page by page. He always acted as the temper, just like he's doing with Agatha. Blackheart / Rio just warned Agatha to run.

I think it's really refreshing to be following a villain. I know we had Loki, but by that point Loki had been a hero far longer than a villain. Loki went into his series trying to redeem himself while Agatha is still as selfish as ever and is only looking to get power for herself.

I liked the trailers but the first 2 episodes were a really great start. I usually have problems with Marvel show pacing and writing but these first two episodes seem to have good pacing and writing. The first episode established Agatha still in Wanda’s spell we get to live it that while Agatha gets caught up with events of MOM and Wanda’s death. We meet both Rio and “teen” while in the spell then just moments later Agatha breaks free and we see teen and Rio as they are. Episode two we see how the real Agatha operates and we see how cunning and helpful teen is. We meet a great supporting cast of witches and get good humor while meeting them. Ending with the descent down the Witches’ Road. I’d guess that the next four or five episodes will be trials for each character with the last two focused on teen and Agatha’s motivations for the show, probably a witchy fight and some twists.

I was very happy with these first two episodes. While not perfect, they met - and in some ways exceeded - my high expectations. I especially appreciated how each character felt fully developed. They could have made some of them disposable Red Shirts, but each member of the coven feels very thought out, deliberate, and realized. And I absolutely loved Joe Locke's Teen. These two episodes (especially episode 2) would not have worked without positive chemistry between Teen and Agatha, and I thought they did a wonderful job building that odd relationship. Now that I've made some room so the "Read More" truncation can cover some SPOILERS... . . . I absolutely still believe that Teen is exactly who we expect him to be. However, I am rather enthralled by the possibility that he might not be Wanda's son but rather is Agatha's son, Nicholas Scratch, somehow returned to her after she sacrificed him some time in the past. Even if Teen does in fact equal Billy, it is still possible that the lock of hair could still be from her lost son. I would be intrigued if this series found its own unique way to continue to explore grief in new ways beyond how WandaVision approached the topic.

Some of the characters seem like they won't have the familial relationships they have in the comics. This Lilia Calderu seems like she is not Mordo's niece (though at least if they had a relationship it won't have been incestuous in the MCU), nor does she strike me as a descendant of the O'Bengh/Cagliostro who was in What If. And I don't really expect them to cast actors who look like this Jennifer Kale's cousins for Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch either.

I really wish Aubrey Plaza stayed away from that question as to whether it’s Marvel gayest project yet because like read the freaking room, the only thing an answer to that question can do is destroy. Because now you see all the usually content farmers saying how Agatha is “Marvel Gayest Project” which is going to turn people off from even giving it a chance when in reality it has nothing to do with that. It will cause people to put it in the same basket as The Acolyte which is another show that in truth had nothing to do with being gay honestly. And those are good things because we should be telling stories that are bigger than somebody sexuality and if they happen to be gay that’s fine but should not be the main focus in a Marvel show. Even the forced FaceTime from Teens “BoyF” which totally could have been edited out but at the same time Billy/Wiccan is gay in the comics so that’s fine. But Agatha is way edgier then I was expecting, like her grabbing the blade part of the knife then Rio licking off the blood made me sweatier then I was expecting.

Really hoped for a darker, more serious show. The acting is so over the top and I just can't take it seriously. The plot does not catch me so far (episode 2). We're meeting so many characters without much background why they're important. It's very fast paced. Too fast for my taste. I haven't seen it yet, and probably won't for a few reasons. I think these diversity-driven projects have correlated with bad writing in the past. While I liked Agnes, I wasn't as keen on Agatha or anything she did, and she was there for the worst parts of wandavision in the later episodes. The witch's road is also the 3rd mcguffin that just gives a person what they want, after Eternity and the book of vishanti.

I am on record saying the idea of Agatha getting her own show is just dumb, then after seeing first 2 episodes I totally get it as Katheryn Hahn is a rockstar. Also after seeing MoM you get a sense for just how powerful Agatha really is and why she is deserving of more focus especially with Doom coming to the MCU and needing to explore the background of magic more outside a Dr. Strange movie. Also as somebody who hates musicals I was shocked at how well done the song was and I can’t get it out my head. This cast really is amazing. And again I am not a person who is into musicals, witches, and pushes back against the annoying agenda which you don’t really see here outside a forced FaceTime call by Billy’s boyfriend.

I was really surprised to like this as much as I do. I think the main credit to it is that there is a clear sense of character, which feels very uncommon lately. I also just love that Agatha gets to be crappy. Not many female leads are made to be bad people, and when they are they often are made to either be interchangeable with male characters or they exist in a weird narrative space where their flaws feel very contrived rather than congruent with the plot and tone. Agatha just is a bad person, but it moves the plot forward and does not reduce how likeable she is. Teen is unfortunately my least favorite character. I don't super love his level of flamboyance, but my boyfriend really did like him and felt that this was decently in-line with how he interpreted the comic character.
