Thank goodness for the YT algorithm that brought your videos my way! I've gone through several and have learned so much. Thank you so much for the info. I've started doing my own because I was tired of manicurists scraping off my top nail layer when removing gel. And I was also tired of the gel separating within days of the manicure, as I'm spending a small fortune just for gel. I'm seriously thinking of getting my nail tech license to go into business for myself. Thank you again for sharing your insights.😊

Me too!!! I have 100% success in rehabilitating the health of my clients natural nails and I do it by simply keeping things old school. Taking my time to do things right. Fancy tools are awesome and can cut time but they leave too much room for bringing damage to the nail plate I choose to eliminate that possibility by keeping things traditional and simple and my clients have nails healthier than they ever thought they would have 🤘🏼

Loved this! Thank you! I also love gel and want to stick to gel and natural care. I have ventured off in the e-file world but after growing my own nails out to cut down and remove builder gel they seek paper thin and I’m thinking it was the cuticle work with the e-file. It’s good to know someone is dedicated to the health of the natural nail and not the speed. Thank you!❤

Usually after one or two days large flakes of polish would be gone lol. But I followed your nail preparation focusing on my cuticles and tadaaaa! Thank you very much kind lady! Thank you so much! As of right now I still have not found my ultimate favorite topcoat. I stick with gelish because it is flexible and durable however it is not stain resistant and although most of my clients don’t struggle with stains it is some thing that happens and that is the only reason why I would switch from Gelish is that I found a topcoat as durable and shiny but also stain resistant I am on the hunt and I will not stop until I find it!

Hi! Know I’m late to the party! But I love your channel! Just wondering how come you are not using the “steam off” method anymore? Thanks!
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you 🤗 in the review I showed that it definitely is effective in getting the job done but it’s not efficient because that particular machine would not stay hot throughout the second hand soak off. we would need to turn it off for a few minutes and turn it back on, it definitely had a much stronger steam when we did the first hand. I definitely want to try reviewing this product again it’s been a couple years they could’ve made improvements and also there are so many other brands available. It was definitely great for DIY at home personal use, for professional use I would def need to counts on consistent temperature so that I never have to worry about whether or not it’s strong enough to soak off that quickly. unless you just have multiple machines so the clients are soaking both hands at the same time 😉

@@TheNaturalNailGuru thank you so much…. Such a shame I live in Australia, I’d so come see you. I do my own nails, because I haven’t come across a nail salon, which doesn’t use efiles to take off polish. I realised before seeing your KZbins that it was the filing causing damage! What is your opinion of dip powders? I thought they were just another form of acrylic? Have you heard of sistaco ( based in Australia) which uses a gel/ mineral powder system? Do you rate them?
@Purebeachlove

What would you recommend for ppl that do their nails at home? I naturally have very thin nails. I do my own gel nails but they still bend (which can be painful). I’m thinking of doing dip powder at home. Thoughts?
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
My personal opinion. I do not like dip powder it is an acrylic. When it comes to taking care of your nails it’s very simple number one don’t damage your nails don’t peel product off and be careful in how you move your hands throughout the day so that you’re not jamming into things and shaping is everything the more round the healthier it is for your nails. Push your cuticle back on a regular basis and if your nails are thin and weak it is best to keep them shorter so that at least you minimize or eliminate the possibility of brakes because constantly getting brakes on your nails will slow the process of getting them healthier. Patience is everything but I promise doing things right will guarantee results!

Question: can I use different gel products together? For instance: Gelish structure with Beetles color?
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I rarely do a manicure where all the products I use are the same brand LOL The only thing I don’t recommend is using regular polish with gel polish. The only exception might be using regular polish for stamping tool but it’s such a thin tiny little amount of regular polish that it dries quickly and really isn’t an issue but you don’t want to use regular polish and then a gel topcoat

Any LED light that is 35 W or more will be good. There’s definitely no one light that I would 100% recommend they all work great some have fancier features than others or are more comfortable but 35 W is the only thing I look for when I am getting an LED lamp although I do love the ones that are rechargeable so I don’t have to keep the cable connected throughout the day .

If it’s soaks then soaking off is the best method to remove. You would follow the same steps in the video it just might take a little bit longer to soak since the product is thicker

What causes white spots on the nails after removing gel polish? I don’t see this on every client, but I see it more often than I would like to. Sometimes it happens when I’ve let it soak long enough too. Any insight on this is appreciated😊
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
White spots in the nail almost like if it’s under the nail plate are almost like tiny little bruises they get banged and the nail just gets that white mark now if it’s on the surface of the nail plate and even peels a little bit that could be from moisture which really depends on the clients nailbed some people are more prone to retaining moisture or have more porous nails if that makes sense. It could also be in the scraping of the gel polish those top layers might still be stuck really good to the gel and when you’re scraping it off since they’re already a little bit soft and moist and it comes up with the gel. Definitely want to make sure that you are gentle when scraping off the gel if it’s a little rough better to put the cotton pad back on with acetone while you work on the rest of the nails and just come back to it.

Do you recommend gel removal? The ones you can get from Amazon ?
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the brush on gel remover‘s? I have tried at least four different brands of those brush on gel remover‘s and I definitely do not like them but check out those reviews because I show you exactly what to expect from them how long it takes the smell the feel of it etc. The only gel removing process I’ve reviewed that is no harm to the nail and does work is the steamer my only issue with the steamer is that after you do the first hand it doesn’t stay hot enough to soak the second hand as effective so we found ourselves having to turn the machine off for a few moments and turning it back on and in the end of the day it still took me 15 minutes or more to soak off but it does work. Especially if you were soaking your own nails off you can turn the machine off while you scrape and get ready to put the second hand in. If you are a professional then it could totally be affective but I would recommend buying two of the steamer so both hands are steaming at the same time and you don’t have to waste time turning off and back on. It’s been about two years since I reviewed the steamer so I definitely want to give it another try and see if maybe they have updated them and made them a little better but right now of every way I’ve tried to review soaking off is still the most effective efficient and safe way to remove gel polish

@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
I have tried a couple of polishes from Amazon definitely make sure to check out those reviews and you can see the results! Definitely the most thorough review you can get. Beetles has been a great brand definitely check out that review! And to be honest I believe it’s all in the process I’ve used all types of gel polish from cheap too expensive and I pretty much get good long-lasting wear almost every single time with every brand. Very few exceptions with differences really just coming from whether or not it stains or how long the shine lasts or how Matt the topcoat is. But as far as longevity and durability I’ve gotten great results with most of the gel polish brands I’ve tested. I always show the results of these products after weeks of wear and I have at least 2 to 3 clients testing the product out so we really see what it looks like after two or three weeks have gone by. 😉

How much should I charge to remove before a new service? 🤔 thanks
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
That is really subjective. I do the soak off for my clients while they are doing their pedicure so the only time I really consider a charge for soaking off is if they come with dip powder nails that is really thick or acrylic because it definitely takes a lot more time and work to soak. So if doing the removal takes more time than the normal manicure process I would base it off how long it took you to remove and anywhere from five to $20 can be reasonable depending on how thick the product was and sometimes people just use bad quality acrylic which really sucks feels like it never soaks off.

No I only really used it for the review went to test it out however that one did not stay hot enough for both hands so we found that we had to turn it off after the first hand and then turn it on again for the second hand and in the end took just as long as me just soaking off although it is very nice to soak off it’s easy the clients don’t have discomfort on their nails but as far as time it definitely doesn’t make a difference I want to review another one because it’s been about two years since I did that once I’m hoping they work a little bit better definitely stay tuned

Why choosing pure acetone instead of the gel removers?
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru Жыл бұрын
Gel polish remover‘s are great i’ve used them before but they are very pricey compared to pure acetone, with little to no difference in the soak off result with the exception of moisturizing the skin. When I soak off my clients nails I use nail clips and only enough cotton to cover the nail plate I do not wrap their entire finger in the acetone so the dryness is minimal and you can always add moisturizer to your acetone like vitamin E oil, Jojoba oil etc to help with dryness without incurring the high cost of gel remover‘s. 😉

Acetone is known to damage nails by drying them too much which makes them brittle and weak 🤔🤔🤔
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve def heard that before! but can tell you that is no true concern. I can only speak from my seven years of experience and the 100% improvement every single one of my clients has in their natural nail health. I think with all of the damaging processes most people endure during a nail service, soaking off in acetone once every few weeks for 15 min it’s truly no need to be concerned.
