AS i watched the last few scenes with the Bees,...with the red light, and Diogo pulling out the strip that blocked the entrance/exit to the hives,...I was thinking....The Bees went to bed in an area destroyed b y the fire,... and will wake up in the Newbys Paradise!! Hi Mintleaf. Good question. Complex. So we have split the build into three phases or sections. Phase one foundations walls and roof will start very soon, in fact we are preparing knock down the final house right now more to follow on that. Post phase one we will make a call in what comes next and how much work John and I do. During phase one, John especially will be heavily involved but under the professional guidance and with considerable help of qualified tradesmen.

I know how John feels about the stone that has been a house for people. I was in Mt. Vernon, George Washington’s house, and I was amazed that I was walking right where George Washington walked. The feeling can’t be articulated, just felt. Diego is a sweet man who works so hard for bees and has suffered a heartbreaking loss. As he said, bees are so important and so little thought of by the governments.

Very excited for the upcoming house. One suggestion, I hope you guys go for a lot of natural light via big windows, sky lights through the ceilings. Usually such stone houses tend to have a lot lesser natural light..

But Diogo got a lot of appreciation by your dear community (including me as a beekeeper‘s granddaughter)!!! I was following the progress of his Go fund me, it was amazing! His explanation is so heartwarming, his grief so heartbreaking and understandable. May he and his colleagues be rewarded with a lot of new life 🐝! 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛 I love John‘s excitement seeing a pile of stones, love it! And Obi sliding with the weed barrier made me smile so much!

The humanity that firstly you are showing, by forming a go fund me to help Diogo, and secondly how Diogo is so passionate about his bees, and his humanity and care in taking part of that money to help out his fellow bee-keepers. I wonder if others would be interested in him giving an online lecture about his extensive apiary knowledge? I know I would. The other part of the video that you guys included is one of my favourite topics: Stone work! Seeing beautiful stonework combined with beautiful woodworking is another passion of mine.
