If that doesn't put things into perspective, nothing will. Pat, keep on keepin' on, the world needs more of you.

Whenever I see a Mark Melnyk episode of TNFF, I know I am going to enjoy it. But this one was so very moving. The love that you and Pat shared on camera was something I will take with me to the water and remember every time I go stand in a river with my fly rod hoping that a fish might cooperate. I am 64. My fishing buddy Walter, also my brother in law, worked for CalFire for many years. A few years ago he started stumbling and I knew something wasn't right. He was finally diagnosed with Lewie Body Dementia and is really struggling now. Pat is right. You never know. Make every moment the best it can be and never withhold love from those you care about. You are a HERO too Mark. If I could go fishing with anyone in the world for a day, I think I'd choose you.

@@newflyfisher Here's something that might make you smile. After watching this video and your Patagonia one with Tom I went fishing today here in NorCal. On a working cattle ranch. That had some small lakes stocked with trout many years ago. Nobody really fishes it. The fishing was ridiculously good with magnificent scenery. I said out loud, "I feel like I am in a great episode of The New Fly Fisher!" I caught a rainbow today that was truly a monster. I don't know nor care how many I caught...It was a magical day.

I graduated college at 23, was looking to get into the guiding industry up here in Canada. Covid hit and basically shut down the industry for 3 years come to find out at 26 I have progressive multiple sclerosis. Oh wow how it's changed me. I'm no veteran, I didn't serve my country. I may not be a fellow service member, although I understand the struggle with disease. Stay strong!! We got this together!! We are fighters!!

First, Pat thank you for your service. Every time I lay down my head and bed, I say a prayer of thanks to all service men and women. I couldn’t serve due to a club foot, so I appreciate all that you have done. Second, Keep guiding- as Mark says - you see things from the bank and provide the advice every angler would appreciate.

Pat, I don't know if you have contacted the Semper Fi Fund, but they help all service members with service related injuries. They have awesome case workers that help with all the red tape. Tight lines!

I just turned 49 and since covid, I started working in hospitals . My job is assisting people to do what they can't until they leave. I never thought I would love helping people so much. I was always a very self centered person. Let's just say that has changed. I have worked in many departments. Loosing many patients that I have grown to apreciate. Being there for families struggling. Please enjoy life, have fun with love ones and if you want something, try. Life is to short.
