I didn't figure out this trick until my 2 kids were grown and moved away -- I buy a pound of pork sausage (add extra sage and/or chili flakes as necessary), pat it all out onto a foil-lined pan and bake it @ 350° for about 20 minutes. I then cut it into 8 pieces then freeze. When I want/need a piece of sausage, I just take what I need and defrost in the microwave. Also do this with italian sausage!

I don't have a ramekin.... I have plenty of coffee cups ...The thing is though ...years ago I had one... But I didn't know what it was called. I thought they were just dessert cups....lol......I believe my ex has them now...soooo...coffee cups it'll be for now. I learned two things in this video- that my dessert cups were ramekins...and how to cook "fancy eggs" in the microwave. :) lol

@@ArianaThePoetArtist also remember to spray just a little bit of oil on the bottom because sometimes it does stick. If it sticks just soak it with water. It happens sometimes. There's so many options. You can add bacon bits too

I make my eggs in microwave also but I use Pam spray instead of butter. I sometimes add a splash of milk to make it a bit fluffier. And I just use the bowl instead of a ramekin but I can see how a ramekin makes the egg rise more. Good video.

Eggs, love them. I put my ramekins into a water bath, Cereal bowl with a little water. Cooks the eggs more gently. I like the sausage idea and the cheese. If you want just poached egg pierce the yolk and put into a water bath and you end up with lovely eggs. cayenne pepper is a good spice to add too.

I’ve cooked eggs in the microwave for years, but I always put a splash of water in the bottom…to try to keep them from sticking. Butter makes so much more sense! Duh! Microwave and eat it right out of the bowl without butter. Sometimes I’ll use a Pampered Chef egg cooker and butter that- one egg in each side, prepared the same way or poached! Hi Tim, I've never made eggs in the microwave because I did not know how long to have it in the micro and always thought they would come out rubbery. Thanks for the demo. There is one thing, though. I don't know if you know this, but I learned a while ago that cheese companies put sawdust in their shredded cheese to keep it from sticking to each other. Before I learned that, I always felt some grain residue every time I made tacos. Now, if I want shredded cheese, I buy a whole piece from the deli and shredded it myself. Besides, it tastes much better freshly shredded. Thanks for the variety. Looked delish.

I agree with you I’ve never purchased unsalted butter, and I don’t know why anyone needs to. With salted butter, you can also leave it on the counter and it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. I use salted butter in every recipe that calls for unsalted butter and I don’t think it ruins anything. Do you think the recipes that call for unsalted butter might be based on somebody thinking it’s healthier? It’s like the recipes that call for skim milk. Somewhere along the way people thought that fat was bad and made a whole generation or more of believers that fat makes you fat. Those of us who know better now ignore the skim milk part of the recipe and use whole milk or even half-and-half. My son has lost 23 pounds on the carnivore diet since May or June. He is dedicated to it except for an occasional ice cream treat which he considers is still sort of on the diet because it’s dairy. He pretends it doesn’t have sugar. Although he notices when he does have the ice cream he plateau for a little while until he has a few days back on track. My husband has lost no weight on the carnivore diet for the same length of time because he isn’t sticking to it completely. He has trouble giving up his soda and his peanut butter and jelly. He eats a protein shake for breakfast and I make him a carnivore lunch of bacon and hard boiled eggs and chunks of chicken cooked in a variety of ways. And then for dinner I make him a steak or pork chop or chicken, but he cheats enough to counteract.
