@@besarlim781 Don't twist history. This treaty was overruled by the Treaty of Paris. If we follow this treaty, the Philippines will have absolute rights over the islands. But Filipinos are understanding and agreed to the UNCLOS. The Treaty of Paris boundaries was reduced to an 12 nautical mile territorial sea and an additional 200 nautical mile exclusive economic zone. Basically, this is to have the sea free to navigate and uphold a rules-based peace and order. But China changed that because they militarized the illegally built islands. China is the culprit that destroyed the peace in the region. China and Taiwan might be in kahoots in this on since China does not even try to take Ito Aba even though they have it surrounded. I can't trust these two states. They are both Chinese and in my books, they are crooks.

UNCLOS is only sovereign rights not sovereignty. UNCLOS does not give these disputed islands in the South China Seas to the Philippines. An EEZ is still international waters.
