I think a critical component of any video about new multicolor devices is a comparison of waste via poops and priming between other multi color devices (when the creator has access to multiple devices) it needs a few models of different complexities and colors.

These machines are not prototypes they have been gone through by the best techs and then sent to great tubers like you. People really need to clarify that you are not getting 'Pantone' colored filament, you are getting 'Pantone Institute' filament, which is a marketing ploy that has absolutely zero to do with Pantone color matching system whatsoever. Those made-up colors that Anycubic gives you, do not have any PMS # equivalents. They're cute, but literally an admitted marketing gimmick, and nothing more.

It would be realy nice if they would make the ACE unit available for 3rd party printers. Unlike ERCF, MMU2 etc. the ACE (and the AMS) actually have their feeders permanently engaged, as they sychronice the AMS/ACE feeder to the extruder (I disassembled the AMS-"buffer", turns out it uses a slider, a spring, a magnet and a hall-effect sensor). On the A1(lite) this actually is on the top. I am sure the Kobra 3 uses the same method. So it would be realy nice if it could be connected to klipper. Or even a Prusa mk4. If you have a printer with integrated nozzle/heatbreak combo and "normal flow" (like Revo, Nextruder and TUN), you get nice filament tip on unload, no need for cut&poo. This reduces not only waste but also changing times. So a printer with standard flow integrated nozzle/heatbreak combo do not need cut&poo. However, a MMU3, ERCF etc. is much harder to set up and can fail if the filament spools are not optimal placed. So combining the ACE/AMS with it´s easy filament handling with a printer with reliable unload ramping procedure and easy to change nozzle (insert high-flow nozzle for single-colour and standard-flow for multicolour) would be best of both worlds. For me personally, I would like to use the ACE with a Qidi X-Max3. That printer has a heated chamber, and I would realy like multicolour parts in ABS. Also of course the Sovol 08 might be a candidate. With the Revo coldend presented in another video, it should be able to change filaments without cut&poo if using a standard revo nozzle, while printing fast with high-flow revo. Combine this with a toolchanger (high flow nozzle for main colour in tool0, standard-flow nozzle in tool 1 with ACE connected, TPU in tool2 and support material in tool3) and the posibilitys are endless.

I appreciate that you say this is not a review but most people watching this are going to look at this video and see all the errors and form an initial opinion of this printer, RFID spools would have solved the temperature errors! if Anycubic wants to compete with Bambu Lab they needed to send out a finished machine for people to form an opinion on, the purging of the waste filament needs to be something better than flicking it, are users meant to sit by the machine catching filament purges whilst their part prints? of course, there will be a multitude of bins available to print for the waste purge but I can see them having ridiculously large back planes to stop flicked filament flying in semi random directions. I know that heat + magnets and magnetic fields are not a good combination and so I am curious how well the filament changers motors will stand up to the heat from the drying process. So far Im not impressed by this machine, no matter how much cheaper it is than a Bambu Lab printer.

You are fast, concise and informative what else can you ask of a video. About this video the only thing missing was information about filament waste when printing multicolor, How does it compare to the Bambu Lab printers? Thanks for your work.

Love the little filament icons to denote which filament is being used on screen, but would love if the color of the roll roughly matched the color of the filament, especially when there are multiple at once so you don’t have to pause it to read through them all and figure out which is the blue and which is the orange and which is the brown

Hi, can you also do multi-color TPU prints with this? I am looking to print with the soft Recreus 82A filament, but the bambu lab AMS cannot handle TPU and it would be cool if this one could.
@oleurgast730
@oleurgast730 Ай бұрын
No filament changer can use normal TPU. The filament changer has to push the filament through the tube to the head - and TPU is to flexible to do that. Even the Prusa XL has problems with feeding TPU through the reverse bowden. However, after you got it in manualy, it works, as the XL is a multitool printer and the filament isn´t changed but the tool. But: There is always VarioShore, a filament wich shore hardnes changes after heating, depending of nozzle temperature. The filament on the spool is nearly as stiff as PET-G, so it might work with filament changers. By setting the nozzle temperature you can adjust the shore hardness. With this filament you can get incredibly soft TPU using higher temperatures - a filament having theese softness from the start would not be printable with any normal extruder. So you might search for some videos about VarioShore.
