Thank you for the review. I have been wanting to try this color. It reminds me of Private Reserve Black Cherry, which depending on the paper you are using can look anywhere from brown to plumb.

I read somewhere that this ink was specifically designed for UK. I got myself a couple of bottles from PurePens. I heard there was also an ink specifically designed for Germany, but I have never seen that ink anywhere. I don't have many flex pens, but this one gives me good flex performance :)

That is true! Either way, I'm most certainly a fan of both inks. Thanks for the video! I enjoy watching these while studying, it's very relaxing and nice to listen to. I love the Tardif Test and Brown Benchmark.

Interesting that you had so many problems with this ink while flexing. I have a sample of this, as well as a full bottle of Australian Roses, and both perform very well in my flexible Watermans and dip nibs. I find the "Black Swan" effect only shows up with the dip nibs, though, presumably because the tines on them are much sharper.

Maybe it would be good to differentiate the medium inks. A scale of 1-2-3 may not distinguish the differences of 2 inks so maybe a system of 1-2-3-4 would give some further clarity. 1-poor/2-okay/3-good/4-great. Thank you Stephen!

Bloody hell, hey -- that thing's rail-roading to hell and gone on that copier paper. It's a beautiful colour ink, to be honest.

This ink looks so dark when you write with it. This ink comes out quite pink to fuscia to a lighter brown for me. I am writing with a Fine nib on a Lamy Al Star.

Hi, Stephen. You may know this by now, but I just saw a video by Nathan, the creator of Noodler's inks and pens, in which he tells the story of this ink. It is a touching story about a woman he knew who had a relative who died in The Great War and she could never look at the poppies in Nathan's garden when she visited. I have gone on quite enough, but here's the clip for reference. His stories always get me. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYSpd6xpra6emaM

Love your videos Stephen, I've watched just about all the inkcyclopedia episodes, but seriously you need to invest in a nicer every-day flex pen, one that actually works. That orange Ahab railroads in just about every video. Im starting to think it may have been made by Lionel...Write on my friend.

You should take your camera off auto white balance. The cycling through color temperatures is really distracting.
