Nick... I literally was about to give up trying to get my midi controller to work in my DAW with my Neural plugins. None of the convoluted videos on how to use the plugins in a DAW over at the Neural DSP channel showed how to setup the correct type of track in Logic. The Neural guy skips the basic track setup in the DAW in his videos and even when he goes into advanced setups he assumes way too much of those watching his video, goes way to fast and it is over. I come to your video and it is no nonsense... easy peasy and I have my midi floor controller controlling the plugin in Logic. THANK YOU

I made this work finally. MIDI in Logic is total balls, its really ancient way to work. But the question is, how do I record, if I can only switch the preset when on the software instrument track?

Hi Nick, Great video, but I'm wondering if you can help? I am using a similar setup to you, having my Nolly X archetype running as a software instrument. I can hear the input and it registers in Logic, but when I hit record nothing records on that midi track like it does with the standard audio tracks. Am I missing something? Thank you!

i just bought the nolly dsp and i’m just trying to figure out how to even open it because neural dsp doesn’t even show up as an option when i hover over au midi controlled effects in logic. i paid $130, activated it in ilok, and still nothing i can’t find it nor will it even show up in logic when i go searching for it. need help asap!!

Hello Nick, thanks for the video. I just got mine and I was hoping you could help me out. I installed the editor software and firmware update from the Blackstar website. I can easily assign midi clock and cc commands to the footwitches and they work great. However I am unable to get the note to send the right message. I have tried connecting the controller to pedals to trigger samples, also to my mpc and protools software and I’ve run the controller though Midi-ox Even though the Blackstar software says that the foot switch is set to a specific note, like C 2 or B3 it doesn’t safe that to the pedal and the only note it seems to send is C-1 ??? Also even though it is set to send momentary signal it latches to “note on” when pressed and doesn’t send “note off” until it is triggered again. (BTW “momentary” works perfectly in CC messages) I know it’s a new product but have you heard about this before? Is it a bug? Any idea on how to fix it? I have uninstalled the software and firmware update twice on my PC and my husbands Mac. The other messages work great, but I really need to the send “note on/off” to trigger my sample/loops I have also emailed Blackstar support and the official forum. Hoping to find a solution soon. Just received the unit... but i cant seem to make it work in Cubase, an clues Nick? I am using Gojira Plugin and set it up like you but no luck!

I use Cubase 10.5. Can I assign every one of the 6 switches with a Record button of a track. For example the Foot Switch 1 will enable/disable the Record button of the first track, Foot Switch 2 will enable/disable the Record button of the second track etc?

Is it possible to control the parameters of the Neural DSP plugins without necessarily having to go through a DAW????? I bought Blackstar Live Logic just for this reason but I'm afraid I'll have to beat the crap out of it! Can someone help me?

You should be able to use it with the standalone versions. Watch the video i just posted recently using it with the st james standalone and see if you can apply the same setup to neural
