@@butters395 Yep... That's exactly why she left the show. She said that when they asked her to return to the show to save it, she told them that the only way that she would, is if the writers would stop having Jimmie acting like a clown, and they agreed. You'll notice in the last season when Esther came back, Jimmie didn't yell DY-NO-MITE once.

Where is my favorite episode of James on The Debutante Ball Episode where James Was Defending JJ. It’s The one where James Said “NO NO JUNIOR THIS IS YOUR HOME THIS ONE PLACE YOU DON’T AND RUN FROM NOBODY NOW COME BACK HERE.” And he says “NO SUCCESS ISN’T A DIRTY IS FORGETTING, FORGETTING WHERE YOU CAME FROM BROTHER.” JAMES DESERVES A GRAMMY AWARD AFTER THAT EPISODE RIGHT THERE.

I like James Evans. He is what every father should be. There are some TV fathers who really discpline their children especially boys. Boys really need their fathers to see what's like to be a real man. George Jefferson is also a good father figure. Mike Brady on the Brady Bunch also, Carl Winslow on Family Matters also and more. Back during the 50's 60's and 70's fathers were in their homes raising their children. Now they have gone missing like they don't even care.
