“May the valkyries welcome you and lead you through Odin's great battlefield. May they sing your name with love and fury, so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla and know that you've taken your rightful place at the table of kings. For a great man has fallen: A warrior. A chieftain. A father. A friend.” This monologue and John Powell’s INCREDIBLE score is my favorite moment of the entire trilogy. I almost didn’t want to hear Hiccup talk after this even though his words were also beautiful and moving, the score was just that powerful.

I think the reasoning as to why Hiccup's mom didn't come back is that the dragons, who are generally hunted to death, needed her more than Hiccup, son of the chief who would protect him well. And of course in her eyes she couldn't do both since the Stoick and vikings she knew could never try to understand the dragons. She would be standing on the wayside, unable to do anything.

@@valathor95 @valathor95 He IS more important than some animal. That's why if they were both in danger, she would choose Hiccup. And these aren't just some animals. They've been shown to have as much awareness and consciousness as humans, if not more. She knew there was a genocide being carried out against these creatures and chose to stay with them and help them survive it, and that meant leaving Hiccup in the capable hands of his father and not being in his life. I can't, for the life of me, see the evil that you both see in that. It's not very different from a soldier leaving their family to go to war for a cause that is more important than family time.

If you're looking for a game where you actually PLAY as a dragon and can fly around, I'd recommend Day of Dragons on steam. Survival game where you play as a baby dragon, grow up through different stages, and can fly around and do all sorts of different attacks based on the dragon you're playing. Very fun!

I believe there was a special short film between HTTYD1&2. It was released like around Christmas I guess. Basically Hiccup once made a new tail device that could be controlled by Toothless himself, therefore Toothless can fly by his own again, but Toothless eventually says no. He chooses to fly with Hiccup which is truly heartwarming. And I think that special short story made the 3rd movie hit even harder. Really recommend you to watch it before you get into the 3rd movie. But I don’t know where to find that clip now😢

@hirvale9 ай бұрын
It would, but I stand by the fact that this is hilarious. If you switch the genders, the stereotypes change, connotations arise, and it's no longer the same comedic situation.
@nichescenes9 ай бұрын
@@hirvaleyeah I think people don’t get it when they do the reverse roles thing and why it doesn’t work. On paper yeah but in reality one role is more socially stigmatized than another in our culture. Aka you can have all the men in street fighter for example oiled up and sweaty fighting muscles out shirt off and camera lingering on kicks but have one girl in any outfit and in shape and it’s considered ugh male gaze. Get a woman who’s less socially accepted “attractive” and it’s ehh. Give or take. People react weird to different things. I know people who used to love degrassi a teen highschool show that dealt with some taboo subjects to inform etc and dramatize. Today I know adults who think it’s disgusting cause kids are involved in dating etc. like as in dating other kids their age. I get why a show like that is appealing and normal for a kid that age to watch. Adults scoff at it even existing. I feel like alot of our media is put through a social lense that has evolved and labels anything not for us bad. So as we age we want everything still for us when it’s not. This slap stick on men isn’t for adults it’s not to be taken seriously for example cause yes abuse goes both ways.
@Adam-tx1tr7 ай бұрын
@@hirvaleA man filling a role like that towards a woman isn’t funny because we instinctually perceive as threatening and we all know as a society how that plays out. But I found it really funny. I don’t understand the “if the roles were reversed” argument in a lot of situations because that logic requires the reversal of gender relations throughout all of human history.

interesting fact drago can control his alpha because he trained it from when it was a small baby using pain its the same way they used to train elephants the animal is smart enough to understand that if it sees the bullhook (the hook he waves around while shouting) and hears drago scream he better obey or there could be pain but the animal isn't smart enough to reassess the situation and that it is bigger then drago or the trainer so it simply just remembers i do as I'm told or hell use the hook to cause me great pain like when i was very small. also i love the little details in this movie like how we see papa hiccup and drago fighting mirroring the alphas fighting and it also explains why mamma hiccup liked the alpha so much it was essentially a dragon version of her husband (a strong leader who protects his own, with the shape of a big beard). also that the alpha loses his horn mirroring that drago lost his left arm (same as how hiccup lost his leg on the same side as toothlesses tail fin)

Found a good answer somewhere about Hiccups mom not going back to berk. "let's say herders who live around killing wolves, and you're the trouble maker who always tries to save them, you'd create more trouble by raising your son to also be a dirty wolf-saver. Better to let him be raised like the others, where he will fit in, I suppose."
