They assumed the husband was the cheater. So, the man in the cemetery walking past Ruby is the father of Aqua, Ruby and Himekawa.

And Aqua is missing a very simple and obvious thing, because he deep down wanted it to be over. Actually, many people overthink about the 'loophole'. As Akane said, it is simple loophole. Himekawa(Aqua's half brother)'s mom cheat with Aqua's father.

It's not overthinking, they should use a different word. When u use 'loophole' pertaining to a story most people would think there is a flaw in logic, a flaw in Aqua's deduction but there isn't. His side of the story could be just as likely as Akane.

That everything is cleared up in a perfect bow. But there's a clear possibility staring him in the face. It may very well be nothing, but it's still something he's overlooked. Considering how meticulous he'd been previously Akane found that odd. Hence her realizing maybe Aqua is better off not knowing and leaving him be.

Loophole from Akane point of view. -Aqua assumes Uehara (the husband) cheated on Airi (Taiki's mother) with Ai. But neglect the possibility that Airi is the one who cheated on her husband with the biological father making Taki not Uehara's son... this is confirmed at the end of the episode with the biological dad appearing. So the obvious loophole, Taiki's mother is the one who cheated not her husband, Uehara. Loophole for viewer point of view. -Taiki is 20, the twins are 16 soon to be 17. Taiki parents died when he was 5, Ai was murdered when the Twins were 3... meaning when Uehara died... the Twins was 2 making Uehara being the biological father impossible. Especially the fact Ai called the biological father days before her murdered.

Rana got it right, the father sired both the twins and the half brother. The person Aqua suspected to be the father is not the father of all 3 kids. When he found out his wife cheated, he commited the suicide. The manga was a bit more direct.

i think you guys forget that the DNA test states theres a 99% chance that himekawa and aqua (and ruby) are half siblings by the same father who we clearly see at the end of the episode. himekawa tells aqua that their father died in a murder-suicide when he was young (likely between 3-5 years old) but we can see is not the case himekawa and the hoshino siblings have a gap of about 3 years; himekawa recently turned 20, and the siblings are 16-17. the husband and wife were both dead by the time aqua and ruby turned 3 years old, and Ai calls their father to maybe come see them (again if what himekawa is saying about the father is true, then this shouldnt be possible) the loophole in this case is that himekawa's mother was the one to have cheated, not the husband (like everyone, including aqua thinks) so we have: father: blondie mother: airi (himekawa's mom) and ai (ruby and aqua's mom) children: aqua, ruby, himekawa himekawa > airi < blondie > ai < aqua and ruby

To me, the obvious loophole Akane must have noticed is that he tested his half-brother, and learned they share the same father. But he never tested the so-called father who died in the murder-suicide. So it's quite possible the father in the murder-suicide was not his half-brother's real father; this suggests the half-brother's dead mom could have had a secret affair with a third individual (presumably the blond man) who is also the father of Aqua, and then the murder-suicide may have either come out when the husband learned of this or as part of a cover up by Ai's lover.

How DNA works... it is Impossible for two brothers to be biological father of a child unless they are Identical Twin brothers. Reason being Identical Twins shares 99% DNA as they came from the same egg from the mom that split into two zygotes. Faternal twins comes from 2 seperate eggs with two separate sperms. So no Uehara and the Biological dad aren't related at all, one. Uehara isn't the biological father of Taiki, especially since Aqua and Uehara share the same father DNA. People were too focus on Taiki's story and over looked the fact Airi Himekawa the one who cheated.

Akane didn't say what she said because she thought Aqua was trying to breakup with her because of lack of physical skinship. She said it because she wanted to explain to him that she did not feel revolted by him kissing her and accepted it because she knows that there are other parts to him than just manipulating people. She is not sure about her feelings but knows he is special to her and she wants to be there for him. Its not about physical but about how she trusts and has feelings for him enough to accept those things if he wants them. Are those feelings what is called love? She doesn't know. Remember that she is the type of person who tries to rationalize and portray everything in a logical way, like she did with Kana's behaviour during the Tokyo Blade arc. But its hard to rationalize and logically explain feelings like love, so the concept is hard for her to grasp. That does not mean she doesn't romantically like Aqua. Its just that she does not understand that this is what you define as love.
