For all I know, if I was a believer in such a thing, my soul could be hundreds of thousands of years old or maybe billions of years old because energy is transferred, not necessarily dissipated. Hey editor just a heads up. This genre is called Tensei that means reencarnated and isekai is a genre of being transported to another world, so re zero is a isekai but is not a reincarnation show, oshi no ko is tensei but not a isekai and Shows like konosuba and tanya the evil are both.

The star eyes are not actually visible, it's metaphorical, like to show Ai's attractiveness (to resume). That's why you can see Aqua's star eye shine brighter when he tries to convince Kana, and get dark when he have revenge thoughts... So, other characters in the show can't actually see a star in their eyes

The internet loves to misuse terms until they lose their meaning. In this case it's at least a little understandable that so many people get confused since a large percentage of recent isekai are *also* reincarnation anime.

People conflate the two because very often isekai feature tensei (reincarnation). But it's so conflated for people that one reactor apparently refers to Oshi no Ko as an isekai in the same world. Not knowing isekai, literally translating to something like otherworld, is depend on the setting in a different world not our own. Especially since there are isekai that don't feature tensei.

isekai anime is specifically when the character reincarnates in a different world :) it literally means "new world" which is why its called that, but oshi no ko is not an isekai, just a reincarnation story.

The Idol industry's business model is reliant on generating the majority of their income from "whales" or hyper fanatical fans who spend a unhealthy portion of their income on supporting a specific idol. Small idol groups exist because they only need a few unhealthy people with severe parasocial relationships to exploit in order to fund them. That's why idols can't have boyfriends or kids, because it ruins the parasocial relationship immersion and they lose their "whales". The industry thrives on encouraging as much mental illness in their fans as possible. Then when an idol gets killed, they throw their hands up and blame personal responsibility for why that fans delusions became so extreme.

This show isn't isekai, isekai just means "in another world". "Reincarnation" would mean starting over the cycle of death and rebirth. There are plenty of both, and they do intersect a lot of the time, but stuff like Re:Zero isn't reincarnation because Subaru doesn't get reborned as a baby when he dies.

well after the fact (since we don't exactly want to spoil the next episode) but there is some research that you all need to do after watching the next episode (or really for the post credits discussion or pre-ep discussion of ep 7) Though also thinking from the perspective of a young girl whose whole life revolves around her social career....in Japan (makes it x2 worse). Like there is "Western" Cyber bullying, and there is "Eastern" Cyberbullying which is a whole other can of worms that outclasses the West for the most part. I've seen a few reactors already just straight up give Akane horrible advice (Like even go MORE intense than what she did XD, god no lol) or simply not understand things work differently over in Japan than the US when it comes to social things.
