I like to call Taigen Reverse-Zuko, because he lost his top knot, kept the rest of his hair, and is now on a quest to regain his “honor”

AND they kinda have the same voice.

LMAO wait that's so true tho zuko also had to earn his hotness and taigen had it and fucking lost it 💀💀💀

Just realized that the reason Chiaki lost is because his footsteps gave him away. His hubris was his down fall. Will be a theme throughout 🤔

Mizu's not a good person, or at least her path will have her do horrible things to achieve her goal and she is aware of and accepts that. That's why she doesn't want Ringo with her, she doesn't want him to be tainted by her path.

Elegantly gorey is a great way to describe the violence in this excellent show.

15:10 Truly awesome detail: Swordfather had Mizu quench the blade in water (‘mizu’ in Japanese); the yakiire quenching is what hardens the edge of the steel, but quenching in water for a sword is like mythologically hard because of how quick it hardens compared to quenching in oil A hot blade quenched in water can easily harden improperly and thus become brittle, which is why Chiaki’s blade snapped

As for the whole, people not figuring out if the main character was a woman, early 90s anime style and Manga would often depict the males, especially of Asian descent, as fairly feminine. The higher the status, and more elegant the warrior, they were often difficult to discern as strictly male. A good example of this is NINJA SCROLL, where on of the villains is very effeminate. There are other Manga and series that show that as well. There are also, decidedly overly masculine characters, but those tend to be villains. So, it is not unheard of for the 'hero' (masculine) have an effeminate sound or gait. More modern anime, such as Jojo and Champaloo changed that, but they are more modern anime stories, and usually from more western influenced artists.

Blackening your teeth was actually considered extremely fashionable, aristocratic and healthy. So the writing in this show is a bit "moden Western audience". Just like you guys.

I’ve read and watched Jojo’s Bizarre adventure and am currently caught up to the manga. For the parts that are currently animated, they’re perfect adaptations, adapting multiple chapters into single episodes to keep the pacing nice and tight. If u don’t know what the series is about, i suggest going in blind and making ur own opinions, although it sits at the top of my most enjoyable series

Japan as you learned in samurai shamploo wasn’t as puritian as the west yet. This is also why in the west it’s obscene in 90s to even see nudity in front of family while watching a film with room of 18+. 😂in Japan Goku friend krillian showed bulmas 😮😮 and they didn’t take it as the biggest thing in history. Just an innocent gag. In west it’s assault and the worst and disgusting etc. not judging either or. Just showing how they are openly showcasing their sexuality as they some not all feel less scared about feeling weird

I mean... I find ear stretching gross... but it's all the rage. People do dumb things to their bodies if it's in style.
@mels6073 ай бұрын
actually, ear-stretching is a tradition found throughout many cultures going back centuries. it's not a new thing, it just got "rediscovered" in a sense. customizing your body in a way that makes you happy isn't dumb at all, it's brave and inspirational.
@mithroch3 ай бұрын
@@mels607 never said it was new... just gross. Yeah... body modding is brave... especially when it causes other health issues down the line... but if you're happy in the meanwhile... who am I? I still eat like a teen even though everyone my age has more discipline. I am no example of sense over style. My point is... blackening teeth may seem gross or weird to us, but it's a normal thing at that time. Ear stretching is gross to me... but it suits the people participating so it's hard to be judgy.
