Thanks Martin, you made my day(poem)! That snow looks tough to make a path, let alone walk in three miles! Had a Pileated woodpecker land on a car and peck on his reflection on the glass and mirror! Sure helps me to have a good break from all the things that I can not change. Snow looks so pretty but makes me cold just looking at it from my rocking chair in my living room in deep southeast Mississippi while drinking my morning coffee. Bad part is I do not have one of Vonnie’s favorite cherry pies. Guess I will have to make my own cherry pie. Take care and God bless you and Jim and be safe.

Fairly decent sno pac for that time of year . .. funny , the deer ,wolf ,moose , and cat trail has its own itinerary or purpose , they're like what's this guy doin with these trails ? . Cool stuff 👍💜, i got a chickadee almost on my finger one year. Throw some beef suet in some chicken wire out for a bit with the bird food. Probably get a hairy up close and those nuthatches really peck on it even when it froze solid . , wouldn't leave that suet out too long , bear will smell it out .

Great video, Martin. It's a perfect break from watching the everyday news lately. Our own snow cover is disappearing fast now. Yours may melt soon as well. I wanted to share the name of a country singer that popped up while in KZbin. His name is Richard Lynch, and is he ever GOOD. Maybe you've possibly heard him. He has that 'OLD COUNTRY' sound with fiddles and steel guitar...the kind of music the Jamestown 600 am station plays. I played his music for my son last night. If you can't get You Tube up there...maybe you can track him down when you get back home. One of his best songs is titled "They Don't Play 'Em Like That ". It captures what your last video shared...listening to great 'Old Country' music on a distant station. You're not only inspiring a nice lifestyle up there, you're also alerting folks to GREAT MUSIC. Thanks.

Personal choice on skis or snowshoes. Since I will be using the same trail again I use the big wide skis as they are almost snowshoes anyway. Normal skis are pretty useless in that really deep stuff. There was more snow on one of my visits years ago and even deeper than that one year I opted to just stay away because of its depths.

The Spruce Grouse eat needles and the Ruffed Grouse eat buds so do not go hungry. Grit is harder for them to find with that much snow as any trees tipped up with gravel exposed has been buried too deep.

Is the snow pack keeping the cabin warm? I hope you are not being invaded by hunters. Do posting signs! Concerned about your various preditors, being to temping for those obsessed with themselves without a need for food. The good food is further down the chain. Thanks
