Getting the chainsaw sharpened and snow moved so we can process some firewood. Enough of that and then Jim and I make an assault on Hawk's Pond.

Have you noticed something is very off in the World today. It's like the World leaders have read the Bible, because prophesy is jumping off the pages of the Bible. Jesus is coming soon. How can you be saved? Believe Jesus, the Son of God, God the Son, died and shed his blood for your sins, paying your sin debt, reconciling you back, to God the Father. Jesus was buried, and he arose from the grave on the third day, beating Hell, Death, and the Grave. You can never be good enough to go to Heaven, only by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is by his grace, that you can be saved, through your faith, in what he did for YOU, at the Cross. He did it all. Gods Grace, plus your Faith = Salvation. Grace + Faith = Salvation. Don't be left behind. That's why Jesus died, to pay for All of your sins, so you wouldn't have to go to Hell. God imputes Jesus's rightousness onto you, when you believe, in what he did for you, at the Cross. That is the gospel,(Good News) It is freely given to you, by God. You will never be good enough, to earn your Salvation or keep your Salvation .But the Lord took care of that. He knew we couldn't go without sinning, so God justifys us by faith, in his Son. God hates sin. But He loves us. He is Holy Holy, Holy. When Jesus hung on the Cross, God poured out all his indignation and righteous anger for all of the sins of the world, past, present and future, onto Jesus his Son. Jesus took our place. He took what we deserve. That is mercy, my friend. Once you believe, we are then Sealed, with the Holy Spirit of Promise. Once you are Saved, you are Always Saved. That is Gods gift to you. And that is good news. Don't be left behind. He's coming soon, all the signs are here. BELIEVE, God made it so simple for us, a child could understand.

Good morning to Martin and Jim on a cold snow packed day. Here in my part of Mississippi spring is in full bloom. We have survived three bad storms and next week they say another storm is coming our way. Praying that God will spare us damage once again. The two of you amaze me at what y’all do out there in your wildernesses at your age. I can say that because I am older than either of you . I am 78 and 1/2 years young and can do most things but do not think I could deal with all that cold and snow. Be safe and have fun while y’all can. God bless both of you.

@@TheNorthwoodsman1 - Years ago, a group of friends used to take turns making dinner for the group. When it was my turn, they asked me what I was going to make - I replied that I was thinking of fried squirrel and rabbit. I was promptly informed that half of the group did not like the taste of game, that it was "wild". I said I would make something else. They all raved over my Brunswick Stew and asked whether the meat was chicken, beef or pork. You can imagine their surprise when I stated that it was squirrel and rabbit. Too often folks have preconceived ideas about food.

Thanks again Martin for another nice trip to the cabin. I only ate beaver once back in the 1970's. I can't remember what it tasted like but I do remember that I liked it. I mentioned my dad and his attic exploits with his chainsaw in another post. My dad could sharpen a bucksaw and put an edge on axe that you could shave with. But as many nails as he hit with that chainsaw he couldn't sharpen one. He always had a family friend sharpen it for him.

When you two met in the woods, you took a closeup shot of JIm, and once again I saw the resemblance of my dad coming toward me. It only happens once in a while, when the light and angles are correct. Last time I noted it, was 2 years ago. Jim was sitting in half shadow, and you two were working on a bottle of internal liniment. I forwarded the video link to my kid sister to see, and she agreed that there was a resemblance. Martin and Jim.. I've enjoyed the time you two spent together workn on those trails... but I seen a sign that said (springs) WOULD it be frozen during the time of this video... even though you have plenty at the cabin with h20. Just wondering?...

Question- have you ever been through a severe storm / cold event that caused a bad cabin overnight experience ? Does the heating system handle the worse cold conditions you’ve had at the cabin ?
@TheNorthwoodsman1
@TheNorthwoodsman1 2 жыл бұрын
Heat is NEVER a problem at the cabin. -40 is no issue. One winter I had to leave my vehicle 8 miles up the road and then blizzard after blizzard moved through with extreme wind chills and I could not safely exit. A lull finally came and I left the cabin at three in the morning.

Hey CUZ (MARTIN) I so enjoy watching your videos. Been watching for years and just now thought about reaching out. How far is the Cabin from Black Duck? I'm up there every year in May fishing.

Hey Bud, I am probably another 90 miles straight north. If you hit Canada you have gone a little too far.

You guys can have an extra caramel roll after that hike! Tough sledding up north this year with all that snow. What do you do if you come upon a wolf or pack of them? Saw your wolf videos on here but wow I get a little on edge when I hike out back in behind my property. I'm sure you guys know how to handle those situations. Hopefully next couple weeks we get some nice snow melt up there!

When wolves show themselves we are tickled. From experience we know that even if not seen they are watching us a lot so if their intentions were bad we would have been stalked and eaten long ago.

@@TheNorthwoodsman1 yea I'm sure if they really wanted to they could have their way unless a fella had a firearm. I have never seen one in real life but they sure are quite a sight and a treat to see them in the woods. I had always been told that. With them being a predator they will see you and know where you are at long before you see any sight of them.

I have had beaver - it is very good roasted. muskrat, on the other hand, very much needs a dose of hot horseradish! why is that? could be beavers are more fatty than lowly muskrats!
@TheNorthwoodsman1

I found that the medium aged muskrat were fine but not the young and old. I compared it to squirrel with more meat on the bones.

I did not like taking the beaver but the farmer whose land was flooding said it had to go. Wolves rule out in the cabin area so would never be taken.
