My favorite Capcom character. It saddens me that he's not in many other games because I swear he'd be a fan favorite! I mean look at the equations: - Mobile zombie with retained personality -Guitar that shoots soundwaves -Australian -AC/DC connection -His human form is handsome (plus the Black Sabbath connection) -His zombie form is grotesque and awesome (the fact he's also Eddie the Head is great) - Uses chainsaws like Leatherface and Ash -3:11 That's a personality I can respect on some level, not caring about others seeing your weird side -The most creative set of moves using his body ever -A personality that's part Freddy Krueger part Ash Williams -Electric powers (better than Blanka) - Cute little sidekick with absurd moves (basically Jake from Adventure Time) - The King of Pop references -Has a crush on the best Darkstalkers girl -Malta has a crush on the craziest Darkstalker -Hell Dunk Add that all together and multiply by Scott McNeil and you have a fantastic character

That's probably a remnant of his original concept as a British WWI soldier (his nationality was only changed later because it was initially shared with Jon Talbain, and they felt having two Englishmen was redundant).

Nice, great to see that Lord Raptor/Zabel was the next character to be covered. As always, I like to see videos of the Darkstalkers and for you in continuing the series. One thing that disappoints me is that Darkstalkers is a series with so much potential and still has a lot to give but Capcom relegates to the very back. In my opinion, this series has so much more going for it than SF in terms of characters, design and gameplay mechanics. You are very spot on in that this series takes the archetypes of the most popular monsters and spins them in ways that make them entirely unique. Hopefully the Darkstalkers return. After all, they are not dead...

This would have made my Halloween. Welcome back. I always noticed a resemblance between Zabel Zalrock and Sammy Curr from the 1986 movie "Trick Or Treat." Sammy burned to death in a ritual, then returned in a record that released a villainous spirit when played backwards. I was under the impression that movie was an influence.

Hey somebody else knows that movie, I can see how it would have had influence on Lord Raptor.The electric powers are both similar, I could totally see Lord Raptor being like the Electric Gremlin from Gremlins 2 and zapping through technology or making giant hurricanes of electric death. They also had Ozzy Osborne in the movie who was a clear Raptor influence.

Lord Raptor is without a doubt one of my all time favorite video game characters for how off-the-wall and original he is. He's inspired by some of the greatest rockers in history and even references Michael Jackson! His human form is Hansom while his true zombie form is so delightfully grotesque. He's like an occult more insane version of me! I like to walk with headphones bobbing my head to the beat and I'm a huge fan of metal. I'd definitely love to go to his concerts if I didn't know my soul would be the ticket fee. His play style is insane! He contorts his body while using his bones for spikes and grow chainsaws out of his body. Chainsaws! He takes almost every zombie cliche and turns it on its head! He plays fast hard and can hit for big damage if used right and all the while it looks like he's having the time of his afterlife! He's a perfect representation of everything about Darkstalkers! So why is he stuck doing cameos?! If he doesn't appear in marvel vs capcom infinity I will go ballistic!

Excellent video! Glad that the series continue! As for the next Darkstalkers, I would like to see Jeddah, for alot of reason: -He look cool -His fighting style is quite...unique. -Even tough he only apparear in Darkstalker 3, he is still a major character. -He is voiced by the same person who voiced DIO, so that make him cool no matter what. But really, I be just OK to see another episode of this great series!:)

I really enjoy these spotlight videos. They are very, very well made, and they highlight what makes Darkstalkers so great: their unique characters and lore. Please keep making them! If I may make ONE suggestion: I'd love just a little comment about the Midnight Bliss form of each character as you make them, since MB is my favorite move in the series. I like how the last piece of art in the Lord Raptor video featured his MB form; I just think it'd be a neat little thing to add and show the unique sprite. Thanks for continuing to make these!

Lord Raptor now has a new band, in my fanfiction, The Return of the Mobius Bloodline, he, along with Slash beast from Megaman X4, Neon Tiger from Megaman X3, Crescent Grizzly (Grizzly Slash) from Megaman X5 and and a Dark Bloom version of Musa from Winx Club, form a new band caled Corruption, with Raptor himself on Guitar, Slash Beast on Keyboards, Neon Tiger on Base, Crescent Grizzly on drums and Musa being the siren songstress of the group.
