Been watching your entire series, I’m a few vids behind still. Getting into the excel racing myself this year in Vic so hopefully see you out there some rounds. Anyway not sure if you’ve addressed the issue of potentially scratching the roll cage around where you enter and exit the vehicle but I’ve seen a few guys in America actually wrap that part of the roll cage in a clear vinyl to protect it Keep up the vids!

Hey mate cheers for watching! yeah i'll definetely see you out on track :) cheers for the tip on the clear vinyl, i've already done it ;) got it on all the parts that i can scuff with my feet when getting in and out, definitely works!

Looks rad! But can you chuck a rubber grommet on the metal where the wires go through :p
@TheNuggetProject4 жыл бұрын
Haha, yup, i'm going to use silicon and suspend the wires in that so they wont' get cut :)

Just curious... could one mount the rain light to the rear of the roof, just above the hatch window? For myself, I'd rather it mounted away from my Spoiler Brake Light Strip. ☺ And if not allowed to mount it that high up, could it be mounted atop the Spoiler? This would be my 2nd choice of placement. 🤔

I haven't read the regs in a long time but i'm pretty sure it has to be in that round about area, on teh boot there, i think my placement is about as high as it can be, but it works there, really neat and tucked out of the way, i'm happy with the result :)

The Excel shown, in AUS trim, has a rear fog light, lower right in bumper. Compliant with UNECE 38/ADR52/SAE J1319. The rear fog light is for use in bushfire smoke, torrential daylight rain, dust-storms and gravel roads, and of course heavy fog. OFF - the moment conditions improve. Motorsport regs should in my view, allow for its use instead of adding yet another virtual identical performing light.

Should, but unfortunately doesn't

Thanks mate! yeah it looks a bit funky and racey i think, i'm making them up as we speak :)

Any chance you would sell the mounting without the light? I have already bought the light from Luxe.
@TheNuggetProject4 жыл бұрын
Yeah maybe let me chat yo luxe and I'll get back to you :)

Hey again, I have something to ask you. Where did you buy the rain light? I would like one for my excel too. I have a excel like yours but a 5 door
@TheNuggetProject4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate so i'm making these kits in conjunction with Luxe performance so the kit will have the rain light and the housing i designed :) i'm making a new batch for them at the moment, if you shoot them a message they can put one aside for you :) just google 'luxe performance' great bunch of guys too! well worth supporting :)
@markgoodall76534 жыл бұрын
Hi, Luxe website says to wire the resistors in series ;-) which is how you wired them but you called it parallel.
@TheNuggetProject4 жыл бұрын
Ahh crap sorry mate, yeah in series!

weird how this thing is called an Excel in australia... in north america it's called an Accent and is a similar platform to the Elantra so that's why you swapped parts so easily :P
@TheNuggetProject4 жыл бұрын
Yeah mate, car brands use different names in different countries all the time, like the soarer and the SC300, the Echo and the yaris, just depends what hte marketting boffins think it should be called in that country :) the elantra was the newer version for us in aus, but in reality it was just new panels on the same car :)

lol solder in line parallel. Then solders the resistors in series. Great work btw i really enjoy watching your videos i just found that part funny :P. Also i suggest buying a 2 way plug like this www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-quick-connect-housing---2-way-20-amp/120300.html?cgid=SCA01060604 and wire it in close to the light because if you ever had to remove the light you would have to fish out 2 meters of wiring back to the original flog light connector.
@TheNuggetProject4 жыл бұрын
Yeah i know i know, was pointed out to me heaps, unfortunately once the vid is up not much i can do about it, was pretty sleepy the day i filmed it :P If i ever need to replace the light i'll cut and chuck a plug in, will only take a couple of minutes :) cheers for watching!
@narayanacooper85712 жыл бұрын
Yes, wired in Series, not Parallel. 😅 A simple slip of the tongue could potentially cause all kinds of mischief. 😂
