@@Zanthorr I think that's a great lyric! It's conversational, immediately sets a tone, and lets you know where the narrator is (not with the person he's singing about but wishing he was).

Saw Theo a couple of weeks ago in Chapel Hill. He is fantastic live! First time we saw him was in Ann Arbor, MI when he was still a student at U of M. We have followed his music ever since. Four different states we've seen him. Amazingly talented! I wish him many years more!

Perfectly imperfect. Polished and precise can be good, but sometimes raw and emotional is really the ticket to connection. There is a layer of realness that a clean vocal track can't deliver

You took a selfie with your Dog this morning, you said While you were sleeping in Smoking a spliff in your bed I never felt so much From so little so quick It seemed to good tobe true Which means it probably is You live in San Antone I'm in Los Angeles That ain't exactly close Now that you mentioned it I saved some sick days up For a solo road trip And Texas is on my list 'Cause when the get weird The weird get high It's when you dance with death That you know you're alive I've got some good mezcal And the will to survive Yes these are desperate measures But these are desperate times I've bought a camper van Off of a teenage kid Hail Mary to the gods, California Cashed out my bank account Gave away my shit Just to shake things up Just to scratch that itch I probably should not say Just how down I am To meet you in my bathroom Of a gas station A thousand miles away From anywhere I've never been Just to feel like a human again 'Cause when the get weird The weird get high It's when you dance with death That you know you're alive I've got some good mezcal And the will to survive Yes these are desperate measures But these are desperate times How many glasses of wine Over a six inch screen Before my will resigns And my judgement recedes Cross these divided states Into a stranger's arms Hail Mary keep me Keep me, keep me 'Cause when the get weird The weird get high It's when you dance with death That you know you're alive I've got some good mezcal And the will to survive Yes these are desperate measures But these are desperate times

Sometimes I don't like Theo. I am a guitarist. If someday I reach 10% of his skills I'd be amazed. My dream is to sing a solo while soloing, as he does from time to time. But the dude is a better composer, singer, and drummer than a guitarist
@humanmerelybeing1966 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same way about soloing. Although I play by ear, a lot of it is muscle memory around certain scales and such. Or it feels that way to me--less melodic and more guitar solo-ish, if that makes sense. Being able to be conscious of the notes well enough to sing them would be amazing.
@andrevrochas Жыл бұрын
@humanmerelybeing I know exactly what you are saying! Sometimes, my solos sound almost as if it was a mere exercise 😔 One day, we will be more melodic!
