To be CLEAR, Ms Ashley R... it's YOU, who helps us to re-live our experiences & emotions to these old 'skool soul and R&B classics and stuff!? Say what now?! 😉 Nope... YOU are the next generation, to at least recognize (if not promote) MUSIC... which (sadly) doesn't currently exist today... at least not highly promoted, anyway! I thank you for this, young Lady! 👏🏾 💯🙏🏾

Please listen to the remake, music video by George Michael (R.I.P.) and Mary J. Blige. They put a funk on it that definitely deserves approval. Stevie put his stamp of approval.

Much of the older music has its foundation in the church. So you’re correct in your analogy, hence the phrase in music “take me to church. “

Hello Luther. I’ve noticed your requests on several music reaction sites. We seemed to love the same music. I love that you request “Deliver The Word” a lot. I believe that War is the most innovative funk band ever. They were before EW&F, Tower of Power, AWB, Maze, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love if of their music also, but War has never been given the credit they deserve. It is criminal that they are not in the Music Hall of Fame. But I just wanted to say hello to a fellow music lover. 😊

"As", to me represents Stevie's entire essence in a microcosm. What he was trying to express in his entire career, he found the voice for in this album. "As" represents everything, love is eternal and love is life. Using forces of nature to further his point that love unites man and the entirety of this realm. It's a song that follows "If It's Magic" on the album where Stevie sings a prayer to God to make love forever present. "As" is God expressing what THAT love looks and feels like. This is "As".

Great request and my favorite song by Stevie out of a TON of his songs I love! This one IMO is his most "complete" song meaning production, arrangement, instrumentation, vocals, lyrics...ALL of it came together for a perfect song! Ive seen Stevie perform live many times and each time the As part of the show was an EXPERIENCE!!! Whats crazy is the 5 singles released from that Songs in the Key of Life album, As was the last released and the worst charts performer out of the 5....😮...when it was IMO the best out of the 5!
