Jimmy Stokely was a great singer and performer. Sadly he passed away in 1985 at a very young age. I'm glad people are still discovering his music.

I actually sat next to Exile after they finished their set when they opened for the Cars many years ago in Philly. They were all wearing black satin jackets with Exile written in cursive in yellow on the back. My friends and I had snuck from our far away seats to the side of the stage where they were sitting watching the Cars play.

I grew up listening to these and others in the '70s, I'm in my 60s now. Some might say that these guys didn't make much effort with their appearances back then and there is some truth in that but with voices and musical talent like that, they didn't really need to worry too much about what they looked like. They just got on stage and totally smashed it with the vocals.
