Music video versions of songs back then didn't do the songs justice because often they cut parts out the album version just to fit it within the timing of the video.

Peter affirms that the verse was about Jesus in Acts 4:10-12, and Paul does it in Ephesians 2:20. Also the verse says Stone, singular not Stones plural. Once she realized her foolish ways and the love she had lost, it was this same man who returned, forgave her and brought her world back together again. Shirley sangs with passion and power, and her octaves are amazing. Please go down this rabbit hole Ash. "As We Lay" and "Husband" are two of my favorites. Zapp is the name of the group she was in. She was not married to Roger Troutman. He produced her albums. She is and has been married to Dale DeGroat, who is in the Zapp band. Dale DeGroat is a multi-instrumentalist, and he's the live show choreographer for Zapp.

Great song I truly remember when it came out. I was in the Air Force at the time and was stationed in Dayton Ohio. The song is actually about her cheating and her man leaving before because of it. Once she realized she was wrong for stepping out on him, she express that to him and he came back.
