I tried to guess the actual year it was. I graduated in 1984. The high school was 10-12 and I thought the dance was out the summer between my 9th and 10th year it could have been 8th and 9th which is the summer of 80. 78/79 could you be confusing it with The Freak which came out around 78/79? It was out at least 2 years before The Rock.
