Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan was the biggest influence on Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. Deep Purple influenced many great bands including Metallica. Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is 1 of the most influential guitarists in rock and metal. He also formed Rainbow with legendary Ronnie James Dio on vocals.

Deep Purple (Mk II).......Singer is Ian Gillan; interestingly enough, he did the original recording of Gethsemane for Jesus Christ Superstar musical. He is considered one of the greatest vocalists in the history of rock. There is a double live album Made in Japan, recorded in the early 1970s, listen to it. They were considered by many (especially musicians) to be the best live band of the 1970s. For this line up The two best studio albums are Deep Purple in Rock and then Machine Head....This song is actually about the fear of Nuclear War recorded during Cold War between USA and USSR

Five amazing musicians just doing their thing. Jon Lord-Organ, Richie Blackmore-Guitar, Ian Gillan-Vocals, Roger Glover-Bass and Ian Paice-Drums, THE Mark II version of Deep Purple, and in most peoples opinion the best version. Seen these very guys three times and it was always a treat and an exhibition of talent not to be missed. The audience in this video is either stunned or stupid. One of England's greatest exports.
@ninoorjon
@ninoorjon Жыл бұрын
The audience is not stunned and not stupid, but followed the instructions - this version is the best, not because it is sung and played better than anyone, but because it is recorded almost perfectly, and this is a great merit of the audience, who kept silence.

Deep Purple's career spanned many years and I have been lucky enough to see them live on numerous occasions. They have never disappointed me and are rated as one of the greatest rock bands ever to grace a stage. They were so versatile and incredibly talented musicians. Truly one of the very best rock bands ever, although somewhat in Led Zeppelin's shadow for much of their career, but they still held their own with their distinctive style, especially Ian Gillan on vocals and Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar. We must never forget Jon Lord, (R.I.P.) on keyboards, classically trained and absolutely phenomenal.

Suggestion for ya'll to hear Jeff Beck play guitar. The song is "People Get Ready" with Rod Stewart singing. Beck is considered one of the top 10 best guitar players in the world, played last in band with Johnny Depp, and passed away in January of this year (2023). I would call the performance a duet, only Stewart sings his part but Beck's guitar sings the other part. I'm positive y'all would enjoy it. (If you've reacted to it already I didn't find the video.)

Well spot. Probably a mistype, but the drummer's name is Ian Paice (the only one playing in all editions of Purple and still touring). Ian Anderson is the singer/flutist from Jethro Tull

Great reaction and this was anti-war song !! Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath (all GB) had a huge influence on american "heavy rock" scene back in the late -60`s, early -70`s and later on. Then come "glam rock"; one of the pioneers was Hanoi Rocks from Finland based 1979. Then come Guns & Roses and Bon Jovi ;-)

Guys, might I recommend listening to the entire album Machine Head. Every song on it is a classic...Smoke On The Water, Highway Star, Lazy, Space Truckin,' etc. Great reaction to Child In Time. I always said the song is their Stairway To Heaven.

Deep Purple has a song called "Hush" from 1966 that you fellas need to hear, these boys been at it a long time. There's another group from that era called Vanill Fudge yall need to check out. The song to show off their talents is "The Break Song" off the "Near the Beginning" Album from 1969. It's 23 minutes 23 seconds of musical gymnastics, each member does a solo, showing how it's done. It looks like you guys enjoy great Rock music, I'm sure you'll dig this, since I heard it when it came out in 1969, it's still one of my favorites of all time.

So glad you finally got to this one. It's a fire classic for sure. Pure songwriting, master musicians. If you're going to do Rush, do YYZ live in Brazil. Trust us. When are you going to check out Alanis Morrissette? Start with her video You Outa Know. Not Morrisette. Alanis Morrissette.

Barbara Smelser I loved the 70s music as well and I was a teenager back then, but don't like a lot of the 80s songs, or the fashion from that era, including perms, which ruined my long hair! 😊

if you cant feel this. youre dead inside. FACTS fun fact about the band. it was formed with the idea that the music normally written for lead guitar would go to the keyboard instead.

It is so funny seeing this generation reacting to the music I grew up listening to as a young person. I'm so happy for this music to be revived and appreciated all over again.

First time I heard Child In Time was the movie Twister in the scene where they're all blasting music. It's an unlisted song not in the soundtrack and I always wondered what it was, because it was my favorite scene. I then heard the song on the radio while at work and finally learned what it was.
