I know I'm not alone in this but Sublime is and will always be my favorite band and Brad my favorite artist. It's exactly like they said in the video, he knew how to fuse so many genres seamlessly.

I could listen to this forever sublime is literally my favorite band. It’s crazy that 40 oz. To Freedom came out 30 years ago. I’m only 18 right now, but I really appreciate that album and especially this song. I cried about Bradley’s death even though I wasn’t born at the time. I’m going to start college soon and I’m planning on becoming an animator. I stopped drawing for a long time, but once I found out about sublime they inspired me to pick up a pencil and draw. I would also stare at the 40 oz. To Freedom album cover a lot. The art is beautiful and I fell in love with creating art again. I draw listening to Sublime’s music every day now. This band has such a big impact on me even though I’ve just been listening to them for a couple of years. Thank you Sublime🌞💛

I know how you feel. Im 37. When I first got 40 Oz. It was on cassette in 1997, I was 13. Didnt know Brad was dead when I first got into them, had heard them on the radio, and I cried too. All the way in NJ. Just my favorite band forever. Lucky I figured that out so young.

2:25 The lyric is actually "rock me tonight for old time sake" It's ripped from a Freddie Jackson song of the same name. It's a minor detail but kinda frustrating that The Official Sublime dosen't know Brad's lyrics and most likely got those lyrics from a google search.

Its nice to see alot of these videos finally being made and people still paying attention. Brad was really a revolutionary musician and just endlessly creative genius... his music was and is so timeless and so relevant on a soulful and spiritual level in the world in general and even just further beyond in so many more places and dimensions of time and space. Too many people in the world today are so much in need of the hope and joy and the undeniably obvious spiritual uplift that is just so inevitable and presently prominent when/wherever the truth, hurt, pain, and infinitely endless love and joy for living that this human beings voice and soul emanates wherever it may ring through a speaker or headphones etc....This mans music and the people who inspired him will always ring true in my soul on such a deep and emotional level. Rest In Paradise Bradley James and Lou Dogg Nowell. We all know you're sitting on a cloud somewhere in heaven steumming an acoustic guitar with the rest of the legendary OGs and revolutionaries while their mouths hang open in utter amazement and awe. Hope Bud and Eric are making some kind of a hslf decent living to survive with their heads above water and just in a better headspace in general than all 3 of these guys have had to endure in the past. So much suffering and love and effort was put into having this music exist today that all we can do is be grateful while bowing our heads in respect for all the personal and families' losses that this legacy carries. And onward we shall continue to bump this shit and carry it further. As I grow older and meet more and more older folks in the California and Los Angeles areas, I meet more and more people that have such lovely memories and stories to share of either seeing Sublime at some point at a small backyard show or knowing/chopping it up with Brad personally back in the day and they all seem better for knowing him/this music in some way. No lies.

I kept hearing these two songs on the radio, I'd never heard anything like it before and it was blowing my mind, but I always missed the DJ saying who it was. Finally I caught it, "that was Santaria by Sublime". Went and bought the self titled album, 40oz To Freedom, and Robbin The Hood about an hour later and immediately became obsessed. Two days later I was talking to my friend about them and he said 'You know the singer died, right?' Never actually felt like I'd be punched in the gut without actually having been punched in the gut before, I was legitimately devastated. That was late '96, and 26 years later, I still really havent gotten over it...I listen to a fairly broad range of different kinds of music, and out of everything I've ever heard over the last 40+ years, nothing has ever come close to affecting me the way Sublime, and I doubt anything ever will. Forever missed...
