Seeing Sublime in friends back yard, kegger parties was something I'll never forget. Bradley was drinking a bottle of liquor and handed it to me to have a swig... Those were the days man.

My brother was a HUGE fan of Sublime. Even predicted he'd die the same way Brad did, except my brother was 24. Sublime always puts me in a good mood. Especially when I'm starting to miss my brother, I put on Sublime and I feel like he's sitting right by me, just chilling, listening to some good music, like we did before he passed. So he was a heroin addict and had no reason or will to get sober. No motivation to change his life that he knew he would end up overdosing and die from it cuz he only cared about getting high. Yea no respect for him, I’m struggling with addiction to fentanyl myself and I’ve been trying to get sober, even went to rehab, got suboxone prescribed and trying to get a job or hobbies to fill up my time. So I can’t judge that he was an addict but i can judge that he didn’t care about himself or family to fix his life.

I tripped for several years with Sublime's music down in the coasts of El Salvador, those for sure were some of "the best days of my life". Brad left us a legacy, now I have passed it down to my kids. We all love Sublime.

Sublime did more for me in every aspect of my life than I thought a band or music could ever do… Bradley was and is and always will be a legend to me and so many millions of others, the things that He, Bud and Eric created music that is timeless it’s been 25 years and you can’t turn on Santeria without someone singing along even if that’s the only one they know.. because Sublimes music was able to transcend the barriers of genres and just be something literally anyone and everyone would vibe to. Man I remember being so young and just playing Dave Mirras bmx game just so that I could listen to what I got before my sister bought me the album… they’re music inspired me to write songs and sing everyday with my acoustic guitar in hopes of having a voice like brads and making music everyone could feel… Eric’s bass lines were what inspired me to play bass in my brothers band when I was only 9years old haha and 16 years later I’m still rocking his bass lines… so thank you #Sublime for all the music and Brad you’ll always the biggest music legend in my life cause I wouldn’t be who I am today had it not been for your music.

This album changed my life! It sent me on another direction. Hard to explain., there’s a lot of power and energy behind this music. I used to look at those pictures inside the album for hours wondering what it was like to live in Long Beach in the 80s. I was 16

I relate to you. I was forever changed by the Sublime albums. Even in Michigan I always imagined what LBC was like. I visited in 2009/2010 and I bought a drum symbol case with SKUNK on it. Bought it for $20. Supposedly belonged to sublime and I bought it at a record store downtown LB.

What's not said in this video is Self-Titled was originally called "Killin It" but was changed posthumously for obvious reasons. The original album cover picture was the "mobsters picture"(Brad's sitting at a table w/ a cigar and glasses on and Bud and Eric are standing to his side holding a Tommy gun)

I tried to get ink from Opie once when a two day convention blew thru my town, he was one of the artists doing stuff. This was before the days of FB, just before Myspace jumped off. Ppl were saying that I needed to be like the first person in the door on the first day & maybe... just maybe I could get somethin small by the end of the last day. Yeah, I quickly found out that he was booked solid weeks before hand so, I ended up drawing my own. It worked out great, still the most meaningful tattoo I have to this day. A lot of friends ended up getting it too, even bigger (& better looking) than the one on myself. Nothing wrong with paying homage but if it's for your own band, do it yourself. Def worth it. Cool story & video. Love it, thanks for sharing it man.

The band name Sublime was made back in 1988, because originally Bradley was in the band "Hogan's Heroes" in 1983. Nothing was discussed with a girlfriend about the band name, that was a lie, and they performed under the name "Hogan's Heroes" until 1984. Hogan's Heroes became inactive after 1984, because Bradley was focused on school (graduating from Woodrow Wilson high school in Long Beach, and attending UC Santa Cruz college) until Bradley dropped out of college in 1988. From 1985-1987, it was when the "Juice Bros." were created, which had no affiliation with Bradley but he supported the band. In 1988 Bradley thought of the name "Sublime" when he attended UC Santa Cruz, and was smart enough to trademark the band name on July 6, 1995. Not even the band members knew he did that, which resulted in them having to change the band's name (court ordered because his father, Jim Nowell, sued the band) which is how "Sublime with" became the band's name in 2009. It's also why the band's logo says "Sublime with" much larger than any other name.
