The reason US vs Canada are different when it comes to recalls, because in US manufacturers will lose their business if they try to take advantage of the public however in Canada, people are blind and manufacturers take full advantage of the consumers and the government is part of this corruption. As for Honda, I have been saying this for the last 15 years…Honda should move all parts suppliers back to Japan to save this brand.

@@TYPICALTRYHARD_I rather pay more for a vehicle that last very long compared to going cheap and experience what we have seen with Honda. For this reason alone, I have gravitated towards Toyota/Lexus last 10 years ago. Priced right, parts quality are still good and they last the longest. Last couple of years is a hit and miss with Toyota/Lexus but as a whole for the last 40 years they have been great. If you can get Made in Japan vehicle you are halfway there for longevity. The other half is if you can avoid Turbo engines.

Well I worked for a Japanese supplier company of Honda in North America. Honda even owns 30% of the company. I would say stay the hell away from any Honda or Acura products. They are cheaping out on forgings/raw materials. They have very well established technology and design but they got greedy after 2017 and building cars to meet the warranty.

I just had this recall done today at the dealership ( Larry H. Miller, Honda of Murray, Salt Lake City, Utah) They recommended an alignment for the price $100.00 which I turned down knowing my vehicle has less than 15k miles. Curious to know about the recall. I found your video. Little did I know they should have done the alignment for me, without charging me for it after this service. Am I correct?

The recall includes the alignment. But this recall has been revised and does not require an alignment and can be done without removing the subframe so the suspension does not change. Sounds like that dealership is trying to make a buck off you.

What a stupid ass recall. Did I ever mention all the problems we went through with the second gen Odyssey back in the day with the sliding doors? Oh lemme tell you how many "product revisions" we went through before the powers that be finallly figured out the upper door seals were the problem. When my wife was pregnant with our oldest, she bled heavily about 6 months in. Turns out we had twins, it's called vanished twin syndrome. I'm not kidding. Our oldest was born 6 weeks early. She's almost 28 now and other than scoliosis, no health problems. I hear Linkin Park in the background

There are a few other videos where the mechanic is actually syringe applying grease into the smaller second hole where the replaced spring and cap get threaded in with HondaBond. They actually mention the minimum amount of grease required so you have to check the scale on the syringe to make sure you injected enough grease to meet the spec. So are there 2 different recall procedures being given to the Honda/Acura dealerships? There is no syringe grease addition in this particular video.

I have a 2024 Accord, and it has a steering problem! Not sure it's the same issue as the re-called Hondas. Mine has a sticky spot when the steering wheel is on center. It makes it hard to keep the car going straight. Eather you are drifting left or right. And of course, the dealer says there is nothing wrong and won't acknowledge that there is a problem.

What I have noticed before replacing the spring and putting new grease. I feel a very slight notchiness when doing small steering input. After the grease and spring there is a noticable smoothness. Not sure if it's the spring or that extra grease we squeeze in. I say squeeze because they revise the recall and got the tool to remove the cap and a syringe to squeeze more grease in without dropping the subframe now.

We have had new ridgelines come in for moisture in the headlights, noisy click spring but it's because the steering lock that the clock spring mounts to us off center I have a video on that. this is the similar problem with hyundai coupler issue?

The Hyundai coupler causes a clunking noise when turning and going over bumps because the rubber bushing in between disintegrates and causes metal on metal contact or slop in the coupler. This recall is for sticking or notchy steering. That will affect your safety system like lane keep assist.

@theoffroadingmechanic2 ай бұрын
Kia and Hyundai's power steering motor is mounted to the rebar behind the dash. I have replaced quite a few of them due to the welds on the rebar that the EPS motor mounts too requiring to remove the dash. Had many complaints of a clicking noise when turning the wheel left or right and the amount of torque that motor puts on the mounting points causes it to flex and crack the welds. I use to have videos on it showing the broken welds and how the whole steering column moves when turning the wheel.
