I can only reply here I do not know why I cannot post a comment. That frame and the mirror remind me of antique furniture I have that's over 100 years old. French provincial maybe, but the date of my furniture is 1913. I currently am using the dresser but don't have the mirror attached to it that looks almost just like that, that dark stain color around that time period.

“Those are just some old clothes, throw ‘em away” - is what I used to think about these old pieces of fabric or polyester from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s… but as I watched Benjamin dig into the 4 foot pile of clothes and pick out unique pieces and point out different features, my appreciation for these old clothes grew. I realized that these, too, are pieces of our American history - and that saving these pieces is also another form of preservation of the same.

I have to agree with you Robert. I lived through the 70tys n 80tys n a lot of clothes had polyester n I remember how hot it was to wear them here in Florida. When Benjamin mentioned the collars I thought of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Those pointed collars. It’s good to see someone learning about vintage clothing n Benjamin having his store. I’m sure there’s plenty more for him to go through. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🐾🐾🐾🐾🐈‍⬛

I'm a 70 year old widow and was going thru a coat closet in my home and found my late husbands Lee denim jacket that he had before we were married. Has to be from the mid to late 60's. I gave my son a lot of things to sell as I will no longer be using them. From my biker days! He is still researching the Lee jacket. So far we know it's worth 100's of dollars. Very popular jacket. You never know what is hanging around. I still have some of my vintage clothing from the early 1970's. Don't think I will part with them yet. And my rock band tee shirt collection someday will go to. It number's way over 100. Those aren't going yet either!

It's fun to just look and see what can be found. You've made my day. Makes me want to rummage. Rummage sales used to be really popular to raise money for charity, fun fact in the UK they are called jumble sales. So anyway, rummage on,😁 I love it!!

It has been my experience that popular fashion always comes back around, so it makes sense that things from the 70s and 80s are popular again. I do enjoy these clean-out videos, I watch another channel called " Curiosity Inc." that does hoarder clean outs and you never know what you'll find in a random box somewhere. Which is fun. And seeing the space transform is cool too.

Those are cool finds! Most people don't have any idea what they've got, especially when there's multi generational things. Most people will go through a room or house and just see it as junk and haul it out to a dumpster, but I'm glad there are folks who appreciate those older things. This was a great video, Robert. How many little polyesters had to give up their lives for all those clothes? Walking through the house to the back rooms made the rooms you've recovered look so much better. The few months I worked in fast food it was Arby's and those shirts were a reminder -- everyone should work fast food at least once and get it out of their system. An interesting Arby drive-thru story comes from the store I worked on El Camino Real in Mountain View, California. Me: Welcome to Arby's can I have your order? Drive-thru customer recognizing an accent: What part of Iowa are you from? As truth would have it, I grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Robert, Old mirrors are coated with Mercury , so it's better to replace the mirrors rather than restore them. I took a course in restoration or replacing and there are some new ones that look old because the glass you use it's old flat drawn. It's so good to see the more recent generations cleaning , appreciating and selling the old stuff. Way to go Benjamin!!!! Camera Gal, you are doing a great job, don't let Robert intimidate you lest we have to sic the Other Robert on him:) Just kidding, he is a great person. Cheers, Rik Spector

To get the plaster off your picture frame i used to tie a rope to the frame and throw it in the lake by my house. In about an hour take it out and the plaster falls right off. Then you can bleach your bad spots and lightly sand and then stain or clear varnish. I choose oil base to rejuvenate the wood. They are beautiful with mirrors in them.

I think I finally got a pair after everyone else had quit wearing them. I never realized until now how much childhood "trauma" can be related to clothing.😂
