People restore all kinds of things, and it's nice to see, that you see the value in that old farm. In todays disposable, society, with politics trending towards erasing history. You have decided to kickstart that old place back to life. Looks like a huge endeavor now, but you'll be mighty proud when your done. Good luck, I'm rootin for you.

Now all you need after you sweep off the porch is a tall glass of ice tea or lemonade while you sit and enjoy the view of what you have accomplished. Oh and give Baloo an extra pet and scratch behind his ears for me. He's one handsome dog!

My GSD could not help himself - he lived to herd the lawn tractor. Literally. Even herded the neighbor’s lawn mower. Cried and whined when his hips got so bad we couldn’t let him anymore. I hope he’s in heaven chasing a John Deere somewhere!

This old farm is a labor of love that feels like it's moving at a snails pace. However, it is also the right way to do the monumental work needed. Like eating an elephant, you have to start with the first bite and continue on one bite at a time. Neat to see the progress as you go along. Thanks for sharing your journey.

It good to see the porch pieces stored. You may be able to use the found 6 x 6 wood to sister on to the bottom of the rotten porch post when you rebuild the porch. The fancy trim pieces may have come from the gables of the house. I think they are called spider webs. Lots of Victorian houses had these decorative elements. Some of that old wood from the barn might be the right thickness to cut the missing trim from and porch rail slats. Putting bricks under the pallets could raise them of the ground and out of the water. Good Job! Keep at it, I know you will. Are there any more pieces to the stove?

We had a German Shepherd that hated anything with tires. He even got on the school bus once trying to follow the girls. The school bus driver yelled "Lange girls - get your dog off the bus!" Guess he didn't like the idea of that bus swallowing up his girls. I think someday my husband will walk in and I will be passed out on the floor. I find myself holding my breath when you do some things!!!

Robert, here in the Netherlands and in the rest of Europe the wood price is also gone crazy. USA is buying a lot. If you go to Hubo( a kind of homedepot) you don't want to buy wood. It's expensive🤑.

A battery operated reciprocating saw (sawsall) with a 15" pruning blade will do a number on those wisteria roots. And you don't have to worry about getting the blade in the dirt like a chain saw. I have a DeWalt and it works great on roots. A get a couple of 6' sling straps to use lifting loads with your boom. Does it ever dry up there in Georgia?
