Looking back on it, this was a fun adventure and probably the best thing for my mental health since I’ve been sick. It wasn’t the adventure we intended on having, but just maybe it was the one I needed. A wrong turn led us down into a red clay slick and we were in it before we even realized. Without the option to back up or turn around we had no choice but to phone help. And that’s where the real heroes of the day come in. I cannot express enough my gratitude to Scott and Brent for dedicated their afternoon to rescuing us. What yall don’t see on this video is all the hard work Scott did, sitting in the mud, winching the truck up inch by inch with a comealong. What yall also don’t see on this video is Brent pulling the ole F250 the final few feet up that hill with his Jeep. It is amazing to know such selfless people and have true friends. My daddy was a farmer and a hunter in eastern NC. He drove a Chevy 1500 3 speed on the column for a long time on farm paths. He had mud tires on the back and a tractor wheel hub for weight in the bed of the truck. Just some food for thought.

Boy, does this bring back a flood of memories, between my big brother, my husband, my son and working for the US Forest Service, oh, and then there was our driveway. I could tell that Brent really knows his stuff when it comes to being stuck. This also reminded me of the mud races that the Jeep clubs in Yakima, Wa would have once or twice a year in the 70's/'80's. I am more like Dan. I'm the cautious one, but no one would ever listen to me, the voice of reason 😊. We'd probably still be stuck if they did. And man Robert, in real life you're quite the potty mouth 😊. Don't worry. I worked with men and have heard far worse. And you were concerned that you didn't have any energy to make videos and keep us viewing. I think this adventure more than made up for, if there ever was any, lack of vlogs.

Been there, done that - I grew up on a dirt road just like that, but at least it was pretty flat ground. As a female muddy road driver there was always a man involved in my rescue... a scowling man, usually a relative. Pre 1979 when we got a 4X4 vehicle we carried a set of tire chains in every vehicle. Cheap insurance.

Damn, Robert...😂 You and Dan got yourselves in a bunof a Sachin pickle. My daddy, sister and our 5 kids had one only ours was on a beach not traveled by many with our truck sunk to the axels our in the surf zone. Walked 3 miles to an unoccupied that had a maintance man there call for help. Collected drift wood, logs and dug a fire pit and sleeping pit. Could hear the surf pounding daddy's truck. 4hrs later an 18 wheeler truck show ip to pull us out and over the sand dunes. Thanks for bringing that memory to my mind. Glad ya'll are ok. Hugs from Texas

I need to tell you about the story. The time going down moccasin trail. In oklahoma. On red clay. Thank god now it's paved. In any bad weather. We learn just to call it in.Kids are not going to school. The husband's not going to work. We're getting one to lose it. in 50 foot ditches. In flip our truck.. So I could pretty well say anybody who lives in the country. Knows, about mud.
