When it pertains to my wife or my 2 daughters' or my niece's vehicles I do it right every time. Best parts, name brand tires, tire pressure checks all the time. Hell! anybody that pulls in my driveway I check their tire pressure. That helps me sleep better at night. Peace of mind and no late-night phone calls for a flat tire or blow out. Ah yes, those 7.5 blues. Takes me back to when I had the ole 79 Malibu. That car had many of powertrain combinations over the 10 years I owned it (sold it back in 2007.) The first rear end destruction come when I put together a 383/700R4 combo, then after that combo come the 427 BBC/T400 set up. That combination wasted TWO of those rear ends in no time. It was after round three I sourced a 8.5 out of a Grand National. With a few upgrades to that rear end, that thing held up to all of the abuse I put it through. Tell ya, I do kind of miss that Malibu. I did sell it to a older gent out in that area. Readers here. Anyone know of it? It's a one of a kind 79 malibu. It has the factory Moon Roof. When I built the car I put a set of ground effects on it and a rear trunk lid spoiler off of a 3rd gen Firebird. The car left me with the 427 BBC, TH400, 8.5 Grand National rear end with 342 rears. The interior was black with 1980 Corvette bucket seats. I Painted the factory gage pod and tilt steering column the same color as the exterior. I located and pout in a Police interceptor 115 mph speedometor in the factory location. B&M mega shifter, console, all kinds of goodies. The car had a non-AC heater box. Anyone on here seen it or know of its whereabouts? Thanks for the content, Bill.

I was thinking about recommending replacing that chrome differential cover with an aluminum differential girdle designed to strengthen the differential housing in another of your videos, but I forgot to do so. I used an LPW girdle/cover with the axle brace bolt-on provisions to help further strengthen the rear-end axle tubes. Something similar may help your small rear-end survive a bit longer too.
