This little nugget of the interview is like a distilled vial. The whole interview, three hours plus, is worth your time. My husband and I watched it in two segments.

To shift from looking to seeing an other for his/her own sake, I needed to shift from looking at my self to seeing my self as I am and as I am not. Then, somehow, I started to love others as they are and are not and detach myself from any outcome in relating to them. As soon as I find myself angling for an outcome from someone, I am hooked at looking and can no longer see. Levis Shalom

What I pulled from this is just as God gives certain amounts of honor and grace to people on Earth he loves them differently. He may love St. Joseph more than me. It is okay for me to love my family more than my plumber each person has a appropriate level of love. Is that close?
@blackquiver3 жыл бұрын
No different than loving a neighbor that's going or trying to kill u.
@Waterlemon7773 жыл бұрын
No, you love everyone equally. You just have a duty towards your family. That’s the difference.
@PaxMundi1183 жыл бұрын
I agree with Halley. Jesus is "infinitely graced," Mary is "full of grace" and we receive grace differently but not equally. God does not call me to love the neighbourhood barista in the same or to the same degree as my family. But it's an interesting conversation. What would "equal" even look like in this economy of love?
@chance94603 жыл бұрын
True, and I have heard put in this manner before: 'Lord, I care not whether I be a thimble or a bucket, I only pray that I be full.'

You would love each person as is appropriate. Tip the barista. Smile. Be polite.

UFC or MMA fights are more close to pornography as people enjoy one person destroying the other, right?
@Chris-xz6fw2 жыл бұрын
Fr. Mike Schmitz does an interesting video about how MMA strips people of their human dignity. Maybe give it a watch if you're still searching for an answer.

When a woman requires a man to "make her feel (fill in the blank)" or do xyz, before she will give her love to him a form of objectification?

The football analogy isn't a good analogy. "Consuming" people playing a football game is entertainment. Porn isn't just simply entertainment, that's the world's terminology.

How can these guy's look so serious about the sexual crimes in the church, protected by the canon laws and brushed under the carpet. How subtle these hypocrites talk about this subject and remain in the. Roman catholic church.
@RexKochanski Жыл бұрын
Why shouldn't they remain in the Church Jesus founded? Should everybody have left the Church because of the sin of Judas, or of Peter? There are indeed hypocrites in the Church, but don't worry - there's room for one more.

Sexual addiction is asickness no divert than alcohol addiction or drug addiction. It's a a hard thing to deal with if ppl can't c God. The enemy will destroy a human Gods creation any way it can. Because we r all individuals, the enemy will trade us all differently.

Interesting discussion. I find the suggestion that objectification is problematic a difficult thing to appreciate. I do not know the participants. I know they are people in their own right and likely have lives and interests of their own. I might enjoy getting to know them if the opportunity arose ... or I might not. Just as would be the case with anyone I met. I do enjoy their performance all the same. Regardless of how well I know them as people otherwise. They are willing participants and are compensated for that performance. With just the question of objectification in mind - am I wrong to so enjoy it without first coming to know them better as people? Should I not be watching others play football at all unless I'm acquainted with the people on the teams to some extent? I prefer rackets sports personally, but that's a different matter, as is the question of dignity.

I think the issue with pornography comes from God’s design for the sexual act (something to be intimately and thus privately shared between husband and wife). Just as introducing a third person into this embrace physically would go against this design, being a willing onlooker for the purposes of self-gratification is also not what God intended and would be considered a perversion of the act. The idea of being mutually complicit in the sins of another is a tempting one, but in my view it demonstrates a de-prioritization of God’s word over that of your peers (or in this case, strangers). Although our culture has gotten very proficient at proliferating sin, that is not evidence that it is good. I appreciate your thoughtful commentary on this issue.

Sex and love r not to be confused as being the same thing, that's like saying freedom and liberty r the same.. They r not. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Gods Holy Spirit burns bright amongst the just.

They need to be when they're going on, within the covenant of marriage. The Creator made both, and he meant them to go together. Adam saw Eve and said "this at last is flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone," and the Scriptural author concludes as a corrolary, "thus shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh." It's a natural part of the love of man and wife. Obviously love is more than just this, even in terms of this particular love. And sex is more than this since in it the couple fulfills the primal blessing and commandment of the Creator to be fertile and multiply. But to simply seperate these things is a gnostic error, not acknowledging the Creator's design in the human creature who exists in intrinsic unity of body and soul.

We r not Gods. Nor r we Jesus.. We as human, with that animal instinct to bread is an instinctive natural human behaviour/condition, without it, our species would die.. That dose not mean, we have to act like an animals. We as humans r not sub intelligence, unless we subcone to that inherit evil. In my mind their is nothing wrong to look at a woman and find her attractive, even if I was married can't help but only work on myself, . Physically or emotionally, If I allow that physical attraction to grow into a love that is under God, well that is a good thing. If it's a only souly based on physical attraction. God help them or I. It's a two way street .
