I discovered pornography in my home at the age of 8. By the time I was 12, I began seeking it out on my own on the internet. And by age 14 I was completely addicted to it, hiding, living in secrecy, lying, and swallowed up in shame for the next 13 years. Pornography destroyed my life. It decimated my relationship with the Lord. I tried quitting a million times. I thought I would be in chains my whole life. By the grace of God, I am 1 year free from pornography. I wish I never ever discovered it, or at least I wish I was taught the skills to know how dangerous to my life and soul it would be. Today I am on mission to help other women who are trapped in this terrible addiction. Covenant Eyes was the number 1 thing that really gave me hope for freedom. I am free now, friends. And it is the sweetest and most beautiful thing I'm living out in the season. If you are struggling yourself, FREEDOM IS POSSIBLE. Seeing the world in clarity and purity has been sweeter than I can ever imagine. All glory and praise be to Jesus Christ.

One thing that helps me stay away from porn is that I remember the number 69 every time I come across porn and it reminds of the deliberate attack the porn industry has towards the moral law. The 6th commandment is against adultery and the 9th is against lust and I don’t believe it is by accident that the porn industry named a sexual position 69.

I spent 19 years struggling with porn. It wasn't until I turned to the Lord that I was able to overcome it and finally be set free. I have been free for almost a year now. Two months in I nearly fell again, I was clicks away telling myself not to, but fully convinced I was going to. The Lord would not let me and I said out loud "No, no", shut my computer down and went to church. I have never felt more on top of the world than I did in that moment and the following day. That motivation helped me to change almost every other aspect of my life and help me to rely on the Lord for everything. I never thought I would be able to overcome porn, and now it is not even a slight temptation for me. Please never give up and always persevere in prayer.

This is definitely more confirmation that I'm not alone. I have a unique story when it comes to this. I was exposed at about 14 or 15. I had no fight against it or desire to change as this was before Christ entered my life. I got saved at university, and I began to be convicted of the fact that I hid it from my parents. I told them the Spring of that year, which started a long journey of healing. All through college, I didn't struggle with that particular addiction, but with several other addictions(food, coffee, desserts, attention, etc...) I still struggled with severe lust in my mind, however all those years. Long story short, I wrote my first book after I graduated college. I was not prepared for the immense spiritual warfare in this area. I resisted the temptation for around 3 months. I got so tired that I did give into it at the beginning of January. I was so heartbroken, but I gave into guilt from the enemy. I began to get addicted again. Fast forward to now, I'm still struggling in this area. I dug myself into a deep hole of shame, condemnation, and porn that I have to allow God to cover me with His grace in order to be fully free from it. I also had to realize I needed to give some things up in order to experience further freedom. I got a flip phone earlier this year, which was definitely a turning point in my recovery. There is always hope, even in the midst of the struggle! I will pray for everyone who commented that still struggle with this as well. I completely understand how difficult, how shameful, and how incredibly challenging it is to fight this sin. To flee from it and what that looks like when it comes to this. It's not easy by any stretch of the imagination, but it sure is worth it! We are so very loved by the Savior. I understand it's tough to fully be immersed in it especially after a fall, and even more so after a week of falling left and right, as I experienced last week. But, we are still just as loved then as we are when we reach full freedom. Comprehending more of His love is the only way we will be delivered from these things. Let's not sit in shame and condemnation, which is easier said than done, but we must practice staying in the state of grace if we desire to be free. Stay in His great love and compassion, friends! We are His!

@sunnebolt7088
@sunnebolt7088 11 ай бұрын
@@nicholasclarke8182 Mary is seen as the "Mother of God" since she gave birth to Jesus, but she only gave birth to Jesus's flesh (He was fully god and fully man, or flesh). She cannot answer prayers, hear you, and is not omnipresent, and she serves as an idol in the way of worshiping God. Mary is not divine because she gave birth to the flesh of Jesus. Regarding confessing your sins to a priest, is the priest going to save you from your sins by confessing them to the priest? Are the priests a fit and perfect sacrifice for our sins, or perhaps have the power to forgive you of your sins? They were made human, and are also have sinned; there is no one righteous on this earth, there is no sinless man or woman on Earth. Only through Jesus can we be saved of our sins as he lived a perfect life, and we must repent, turn to him and trust in him, not to a priest to be saved.

I discovered masturbation as a kid after having a demon mention some sexual acts to me in a dream. As a grown up, I’d lock myself in the bathroom and watch porn, drink alcohol and snort cocaine for hours. Some days I’d be locked in there for 12 hours on a cocaine binge. As soon as I forced myself to stop, I started getting attacked by demons and having sleep paralysis. Objects would even move on their own in my house. It was like if the demonic wasn’t happy about me not serving them anymore. However I discovered that they’re terrified of the name of Jesus, specially when you call his name on the original form, Yeshua. He made it all stop. Occasional I have my slip ups and fall to temptation but as long as I’m breathing, I know he’ll be there for me

I don’t just want to stop - I want to have it erased from my memory. I know Jesus has forgiven me of this terrible sin and , as you say, this sinful desire must be untwisted so that I never return to it as a dog returning to it’s own vomit. These are powerful words. I shuddered thinking of marriage as a union dwarfed by the union God wants with each of us. I am struck because I had been living at odds with God for years, I could not see myself unified with him. This message was a wake up call to a greater love that I have ignored for too long.

In my teenage years, I had a church girl come up to me and say "you are a man of god but you do not think about money" - meaning, even though I have spiritual attributes, I am not good enough for relationship since I am broke. Being a Christian for 20 years and remaining single is mockery. Churches are the worst place to find women.
@user-ly3li3ex8c
@user-ly3li3ex8c 11 ай бұрын
Skill issue. You think its the worst place to find women because the women who don't necessarily care about your financial stability and financial compatibility also don't necessarily care about getting married to you none the less have a life long committed relationship with you. Money is the #1 reason for divorce and its wise to sort that out before entering a relationship with someone. What sense does it make for a valued young woman to get married to someone who won't or can't provide an environment that allows her the freedom to stay home, give birth to many children and homeschool them if she so chooses?
@bengraffam1111
@bengraffam1111 11 ай бұрын
Your experience in church with females is not uncommon. Many single women in church have the following attitude: I'm looking for a Godly man, just not you. Many times what women define as financially stable is only applicable to the top 10% or even less of male earners.

Porn is the Devil's hook and many, men, women and children take the lure, hook, line and sinker. It quickly becomes an addiction. Sheer will power will not overcome the addiction, I know, as I too was hooked but I'm now out of it for almost a year, happily celibate. We need the most powerful weapon. Pray the rosary daily and see what happens in a week. Ad Jesum per Mariam.

Beware of disappointment in Yourself - a Godmade creature. That's what the evil one wants to get You on. As people say here, go to confession... but beware of confessing this sin everytime as well. The evil one wants to set You on a path of believing that You have to deserve Grace and Communion by not falling into this sin. We all have already deserved it thanks to Our Lord's sacriface on the Cross. So bear in mind that this sin is more like a psychological than a spiritual issue (as long as You don't really consciously make it Your God, which we all suppose You're not intending to) and try to focus on upper desires (games, creativity). And pray. Look, Your Lord was tested for You about everything and suffered for this sin. He knows what You are going through and loves You. And He is grasping You firmly. Think of that. That be Your focus now.

This is how I successfully quit porn. I know this beggars belief but it's true: I watched a video about demonic attacks / demonic possessions / hauntings. I learnt from that video that those demonic entities absolutely *hate* Psalm 23 (The Lord is my Shepherd). The man in the video was a psychotherapist who worked with schizophrenics at a psychiatric hospital. The schizophrenics told him that the voices in their heads began to scream as if they had been set on fire every time someone recited Psalm 23 in their presence or merely played a recording of Psalm 23. Apparently reciting or listening to Psalm 23 is the easiest way of getting rid of those attacks and those entities. (A few symptoms of demonic attacks were mentioned in that video and I recognised them in myself). I decided to do an experiment - I played a recording of Pslam 23 and I felt something akin to a jolt of electricity going through my body - something like a shiver just stronger... I decided to play a recording of Psalm 23 on a loop as I slept. I set the volume to a level where it was still loud enough for me to hear but quiet enough for me to fall asleep to. When I woke up, I had no urges to watch porn. It felt like a miracle. I tried (and failed) to quit porn a number of time in my life. I basically resigned myself to not being able to quit it. I (wrongly) assumed that being addicted to porn was part and parcel of being a man. Turns out the answer to that is a loud, resounding "no". Looking back, it feels as if those entities were behind my addiction and were fuelling it. I haven't had any temptations regarding porn since then and I haven't watched any porn since then either. Whenever I have some silly thought I recite Psalm 23 in my thoughts and the temptation simply disappears. Again, I know it sounds too good to be true but it really worked for me (by - in my opinion - banishing those demonic entities that were constantly tempting me to watch this filth).

Porn is a big problem in our society. Its eveywhere a roomate once told me why do you think porn sites dont charge you to look at porn because they want us to get hooked on porn. Snapchat and Instagram are basically porn sites. Iphones make it easy to access porn. My only solution is to block porn and stay active cause when we have too much time we sin more. As a man i will only settle for a good woman even if it means I find her when im old.

You’re spot on about how we believe the lie that God does not want to satisfy our desires. I believed that as a young teenage boy and I even blasphemously hoped Satan would help me get women since God didn’t seem to want to help me find a girlfriend. Over time I matured, but for years I believed that dumb lie. The truth is the devil wants you to miss out on true satisfaction, and God wants to give you exactly what you will make you happiest. So when God gives us a “no” or “wait,” it’s part of His effort to maximize our good and maximize our fulfillment. That’s a God worth serving and loving.

Hello Christopher, I discovered theology of the body through your work and it has led me to a realization, theism logically entails Christian Theism P1. If God exists then there is a probability of 1 that he would create a best kind of world P2. A best kind of world is one with embodied agents (axiological axiom) C1. Therefore, there is a probability of 1 that God will create a world of embodied agents (1,2) P3. If God creates a world with embodied agents, then God marrying his creations in that world is a best action (axiological axiom) C2. Therefore, in any embodied world God creates, God must marry his creations (C1&3) P4. In any world with embodied agents, marriage is a comprehensive union of mind, body and soul (definition) P5. An incarnation is a comprehensive union of divinity and embodiment (definition) C3. Therefore, if God is to marry his creations then he must become incarnate (C2&4,5) C4. Therefore, If God exists then there is a probability of 1 that God would become incarnate (C1 - C3)

I'm almost 62. Porn since I was a kid. It's over now. For years now. I got away from it and the church helped. It's gone now and so are the images. Ten years back I had the eucharist but the day before I saw porn. The host tasted like glass. Like fiberglass. I knew that host wasn't consecrated. I about fell down before the priest and the alter. It was supernatural. Period. I'll never forget it. Bless you and you can abstain from evil. Fall and get up. God bless.

I was about 9 when I first saw sexual images and had my mind twisted when I saw it. And I was about 13 when I struggled with looking at things constantly, but also wanting marriage and a helper desperately. I’m 20 and now I’ve been fighting lust very easily by God’s Grace, and my only problem with slipping into sin is my sexual needs as a man. But I’m now becoming able to be a week off at a time without porn and I’m fighting it with all of my mind so I can be completely free in time for marriage. I’m 7 days free today for my 2nd time and I’m always stopping myself from being distracted on KZbin or being bored so my evil thoughts latch on to me. Reading scripture and writing notes from preachers and scripture and meditating on those notes has helped my be encouraged so much.

I've also seen porn for the first time, in a magazine, very young. Around that same age too. In my teen ages I was also somewhat stuck onto it, even though I felt it was painful at the same time. First, I thought it felt like masochism to watch someone else having the sex one is craving for. Second, imagining we could have, for real, what we're watching everytime we watched it, we wouldn't be as satisfied as we imagine. Testimonials of porn "workers" (when genuine and not simple self-promotion) cast some light on it. Sex becomes a bore, a routine devoid of all beauty and imagination. One can even notice that porn itself has been worsening in artistic and secondary aesthetic elements over the decades, giving up all photographic and scenic beauty in favour of crude sex. In my opinion, I think what we're infinitely searching for is a kind of definitive satiety. It makes this subject much more transcendental than earthly. That's not something one can achieve entirely in this life.

I got into watching porn at a very young age . I am disabled and I have been disable for about 24 years. when I did start getting into pornography I had just gotten out of the hospital and I couldn't really do a whole lot of things at the time . I was experimenting and I saw my first naked woman and I liked it so I looked for more and I found videos and I liked them . I know now that it is wrong to watch porn and I think I knew back then I had a hunch that it was wrong . even though I didn't know with my head I knew in my heart .
