Eh, I respect Roy Doltrice as an actor but he was overmatched by all the different characters, his pronunciations varied wildly in the same book and he'd change (or just forget) what character he'd given what accent to. I'd love to have those books get re-recorded with a more suitable narrator honestly.

He really did get good at the voices. It's all a variation of Chad summerchild, sweetrobin or Brandon night king. We have his episode reviews from GoT and Westworld to thank for that.

​​@@brennanbarnes7628 Disagree on a few points. I do agree that he loses track of one or two voices, Tywin gets 2 different ones before finally sticking with the ASOS voice. But Davos, Stannis, Tyrion, Robert, Pycelle, Brienne, Asha, Theon, Vic, Kevan, Moquorro, Shae, Bronn, Penny, Varys, Sandor, Arya (until ADWD), Catelyn, Quenten and Oberyn are consistent and rather impressive. Tyrion especially is done very well, especially in ASOS and ADWD. Every now and again he'll give two characters similar voices or change within the same chapter which is bad, but usually this is only for minor characters. Not to mention, the opposite is also true, in Jaimes AFFC chapters he deals with situations where there are 4 person (3 minor characters + Jaime) conversations who all get consistent distinguishable voices. Jaime changes from ASOS to AFFC, but its not a bad change and is understandable considering the recording situation at the time. When Roy started reading chapters before recording them (ASOS onwards I suspect) he does a pretty good job. I'm just going to say again, Tyrions chapters in Dance are very well done.

I really like some of the subtext in this chapter. Red God followers and Ironborn giving in to the Old God's and all. I wonder what Stannis must think here. He must hear the birds. He must know he is choosing to give the Old God's a blood sacrifice rather than his Red God. He must know the Red Priests would NEVER council this idea. I can't help but wonder if this will change something in Stannis. I think Stannis will renounce Rhllor before he kicks the bucket.

I think the Iron Bank will only release the gold to Massey if they see that he is actually putting it to good use, hiring mercenaries and ships. They won’t just give him that entire lump sum at once, it’ll probably be in increments. They’ll be shadowing him the entire way.

When someone asked on David's channel if he would be open to it, I think David responded that he felt like it would be in poor form to read PJs project without being asked to by PJ, which makes sense.
